AMD Bulldozer Finally!

To be fair, the game of CPU releases is far more then the minority that are us.
Obviously AMD think the zzzzDozer can compete against next gen Intel line-up(IB) and since they are delayed are we looking at some Corporate tactics ?

...even with multiple things open and with big things like games and photoshop i never use more than 3ish gig ...

My Photoshop process alone is pulling 3.5 gig at this moment... I can assure you that a digital artist will need more than 4 gig for sensible performance :)

God forbid you slate anything to do with AMD or Bulldozer in this thread, wow you get jumped on instantly by the fanboys, End of the day it's becoming a joke with this bulldozer now so AMD are opening them selves up to criticism and jibes.

Its just a bit of fun Locky. I don't hate AMD, I don't love Intel, I just like to have the best chip that suits my needs at my budget, currently even a 2500K at the price it is doesn't tempt me to move from my Q6600 @ 3.8 as for what I need it's not nessecary.
At this moment I'm trying to find a video encoding program that'll use what I have, as every one i've tried so far doesn't go anywhere near maxing out all 4 cores. (VSO + Xilisoft so far)
Incidentally what kind of speeds do you guys get in VSO that use it? I'm currently getting around 380fps, 3 cores around 50% one at around 90%.

I agree, if AMD bring something to the table that performs and it worth buying I will buy it. I hope they do, the Intel dominance and pricing is getting tiresome now and it needs to change. I really can't see AMD pulling anything significant off is the near future.

Im stuck on 2.5 year old i7 920@ 4GHZ, I was hoping this was only to be my upgrade.

Do you need to upgrade? 2600k is faster but for most people the upgrade would be pointless, imo of course

Are there any real reviews/overclock results of these out yet? Personally I don't trust anything until the unboxing videos come out but I'm interested. :p

Exactly, an i7 920 @4Ghz isn't exactly a slouch. Certainly not worth having to change out your motherboard, get new RAM etc. I'd reassess after Ivy Bridge.

No.

Hence all the comments and opinions thus far are pure speculation.
