AMD Catalyst 13.3 BETA 2

Are you sure its not the new beta 7 of afterburner? I noticed this version has increased temps a bit, voltage notch is one higher + vroop is less = slightly warmer temps. Check you haven't got force constant voltage on in afterburner as well. I had it on myself a few days back after i accidentally clicked it and didn't realise. I wondered my why idle temps went up 10c. :D Also check fan speed settings in afterburner, maybe its running slower than normal.

Hi Matt, no im not using latest version of Afterburner as you mentioned some bugs with it so i have stayed on 2.3, i checked constant voltage and fan profile was on auto, i did think it was Afterburners fan profile that i use on overclocks but when i saw the temps i knew it wasn't a fan problem!
Anyway gone back to 13.2 Beta 7 and it hasn't done it very strange:(

Check the afterburner overclock thread. The new version of beta 7 afterburner works great and has an option inside so you don't need the /xcl command any more.

Hi yeah i mentioned that to you and you said it was buggy:)

Right well i found out it wasn't any of these drivers/programs it was a script running in start up called iehighutil.exe! i know this wasn't there the other day as i disabled all unnecessary the other day for performance.
So i google it and its a script that mines for coinbits or something and pushes your GPU to the max and it sure does it started pushing mine to 99% on desktop!
I have AVG but people say its new so a lot of people aren't detecting it, i have disabled it in start up and deleted C:Temporary contents hopefuly that will work, but as i have an SSD i may reinstall W7 again tomorrow, so check for that file people it may save your GPU!

Good to hear. The AMD driver team will sleep easy tonight, another issue down to PEBKAC. :D

Yeah i googled it and found a thread on here its a script that a lot of people seemed to have found in the last week, so people please check:)

Now you mention it, I've seen a few people post here saying the recent driver was causing this problem. Sounds like a few people might be infected.

Just tested the OpenGL crash on logitech gaming software, its fixed. :)

I was struggling to install the Logitech gaming software for my G15 as it kept crashing. Are the 13.2 beta 2 drivers at fault for that.

Also having moved over to the red camp from the green how do you go about reinstalling new ATi drivers. Do you uninstall with Control Panel or with the ATi uninstaller software.

or

Just install new drivers over the old ones?

Install over, or just use the official AMD uninstall utility that does everything. It removes all AMD drivers, even for boards, and it is for windows 7 only IIRC.

Yes they were. Use the beta 3 and I have no problems with LGS. I just install over for betas because they are not worth that much effort otherwise I just uninstall in control panel (it just a link to ATIs Uninstaller) and then do a driver cleaner.
