AMD CES 2018

Only thing I can think of is the Vega Nano that was banded around at the launch last year. I assume that was cancelled in favour of accelerating Navi?

Yup, they sure do get the blood pumping!!! lol

As unexciting as they are, I imagine they sell a lot more volume and generate more revenue than enthusiast cards (Mining cards excluded).

If you can't produce products that win on outright performance, then you have to improve value for money. Both RX550 and RX560 were both more expensive and performed at best on par with their NVIDIA equivalents. Wouldn't be surprised if they got replaced first, leaving profitable RX570/580/Vega in the market for mining and replaced slightly later.

Are the 580s still actually selling at £300+?

A new chip for Nano would to expensive to produce and so it would be the same silicon as Vega 64 (as with Fury Nano and the rest of the Fury line) and which they are struggling to manufacture in any great quantities. The "Nano card" they showed of last year was a proof of concept, AMD seemingly just doesn't have the spare capacity to allocate for a new line of Nano cards.

How much is it to build a Vega card?

Am I the only one expecting (or at least, wouldn't be surprised by) an announcement of the Vega 128? 2 Vega 64 on a single card so they can claim the "fastest single card GPU" title for a while. If Navi is due at the end of the year, then they'll probably want to make the most of Vega while they can.

Pipe dream. AMD gfx are at rock-bottom atm (high-end at least), they need to consolidate and re-group and not focus on outlandish cards (the power requirements would be mind-boggling)
