Well done Lt!

Fantastic performance improvements from not only oc'ing but from the AMD driver team too.:D

Iv'e got a few runs of some titles between 13.2beta7>13.3beta2@1080p.

If I get the chance, I shall add them later.

Thanks Tommy. Christ that took a long time. The Tomb Raider results are interesting, the last TR patch brought down performance for AMD as my initial results were much higher than that on 13.2 beta 7.

Nice work MrBenchMatt (formerly known as MrMSI7970OC) :D

Or Ivor Bigun as you were calling me last night.

Haha what the hell, I don't know how I was reading them before hahahahaha. Oh my I think I need a good night sleep

Apart from the odd result here and there 13.3 are definitely better, but 12.10 are still decent. Some of the minimums on 12.10 on dirt showdown were slightly better but different things happen in each race, even though i benched the same race 8 times. :p Yes that's right, each game/benchmark 8 times. To say it was a chore was an under statement.

Bloody hell. I admire your persistence. In my (in)famous 5760*1080 comparison benchs I did it 3 times and even that grated a lot.

Yes it was on my 4th play of operation sword breaker that i realised deciding to do stock and over clocked tests of two different drivers was probably going to be rather time consuming. I' don't mind adding more for 13.3 Beta 3 and newer drivers but no more going back.

Matt are the 13.3 any better than the 12.11 betas? They're basically the same thing right?

I would recommend any GCN user using 13.3 beta 3 personally. 12.11 are now old beta. If you insist on using 12.11 you may as well just use 13.1 WHQL which are the final version of 12.11. 13.3 Beta 3 has extra performance in for games like Crysis 3, Farcry 3 and Hitman that 12.11/13.1 won't have.

I'd be interested to see the results in tabular format with a % increase column too.
I was under the impression that the "Never Settle" drivers made a huge difference to performance, but these results don't seem to suggest the gains were that big in some games.

If someone wants to work out the percentages that would be great. :)

They were large in the games listed with performance improvements. (bf3, sleeping dogs to name just a couple but there were others that i didn't bench because i don't own those titles)

Cool. BF3 and Hitman made some good gains, the others seem quite small considering the hype around the 12.11 betas.
That said I don't know what's typical for a driver release (AMD or Nvidia).

Battlefield 3, hitman and sleeping dogs were the only games listed for improvement in the 12.11 drivers that i benched so that's quite normal.

Farcry 3, Tomb Raider had not been released when 12.11 went beta, neither had valley. Unigine was already fairly well optimised as was Dirt Showdown. The other games which got improvements from 12.11 i don't own so cannot bench. :)

I'll still have the screen, just wont be using it :D
The image quality is nice, a lot better than any of my other screens but a faster screen is more beneficial for the games i mainly play (FPS crap)

I mainly play fps myself. 120hz might make me an even better player than i already am (yeah, what of it? :D) but there's no way i could drop down to 1080p would be wasting my 7970 otherwise (unless i was 120hz). That was the original reason i upgraded in the first place.
