I'm not defending AOC's pricing of it, but you would have a better point comparing it against another 3dvision 2.0 monitor.

Can someone define 'free'? I think some are confused by it.
Considering the G-sync DIY kit costs $199, I wouldn't say the price difference is OTT.

Its a possibility $20 imposed by the screen vendor, not AMD, with G-Sync its $150 imposed by Nvidia, not the screen vendor.

Did you read the quote? The cost would be to the manufacturer, how is that imposed by the screen vendor? The cost to a UK customer would likely be around 25-30 quid (Dodgy conversion etc).
Gsync has nothing to do about Freesync not being free, lets not pretend it is.
For months all we've had is "HA, AMD ARE DOING GSYNC FOR FREE". And Huddy (AKA AMD God) says otherwise now.

That's semantics really. The point is that amd in its attempts to steal some thunder from gysnc came out saying they could do it for free. Has that point eluded you? Doesn't matter who add's the cost. Unless amd are prepared to take the financial hit for freesync

And that extra cost is 1.2 vs 1.3 nothing else is needed for Sync to work.

You're grasping at straws to be perfectly honest.
Freesync has less compatibility GPU wise than Gsync, so many will need a new GPU (Far more than will need a new GPU from Nvidia for their GPU to work)
You can't just chuck a 1.3 into your 1.2 monitor, so it's a moot point, you're buying a new monitor, no different than buying a gsync monitor.
To be honest, your "point" makes little sense really.
But logic isn't your strong suit, so I'll let you quit while you're already behind.
