***AMD Freesync owners thread***

"It would be like using a ball mouse to one of the new mice on the market from a company like Corsair, and then going back to the ball mouse - it's a resounding no."

lol @ that compare
id rather use a ball mouse than a corsair!!
geeez

i dont see 1 review comparing response times to gsync?
most of them dont even show response times at all???

wheres huddy i want to complain
real reviews pls not corsair salesmen
>.<

Meh!

Only review sites that matter when it comes to monitors are:

- tftcentral
- pcmonitors.info
- anandtech
- prad

:p

You'll like this one then. :)

It took a while to get here, but if the proof is in the eating of the pudding, FreeSync tastes just as good as G-SYNC when it comes to adaptive refresh rates. Perhaps more importantly, while you’re not getting a “free” monitor upgrade, the current prices of the FreeSync displays are very close to what you’d pay for an equivalent display that doesn’t have adaptive sync. That’s great news, and with the major scaler manufacturers on board with adaptive sync the price disparity should only shrink over time.

Gonna take a good while before beter range of refresh support is available on better panels as well. Then we also have to factor in the wait for drivers to support crossfire on freesync. Dunno why this is being released in stages considering they said it would be out to reviewers around september last year. You'd think the delay from now to then would give them time to get the drivers supported properly instead of a "staged" rollout.

Better! :D

Needs moar 4k panels. :(

Also a range of 48-75hz is pathetic.

Yup, absolute crap that range! Thankfully it is dependant on the monitor manufacturer and not a limitation of AMD/freesync. The benq operates from 40-144HZ

This is a bit worrying:

Hopefully just a setting on the benq that is introducing that ghosting?

As IIRC, the benq panel is more or less the same as the rog swift.

Sorry so freesync will run correctly between the frames of 40-144hz on the BENQ model? That 40-75 range is bull crap though :S

Wonder how long it'l take before we get a 4k screen that supports a lager range of refresh modes, obviously 240hz is a long way off, but 9-75hz or around that would be nice.

That's nothing to do with FreeSync technology, that's a screen issue. Pixel to pixel transition.

Yeah that is what I am thinking too! As mentioned, probably have the more aggressive overdrive setting for the benq.

They really should have checked the settings of the screens and done the same test but without freesync etc. running...

From my understanding, freesync can go as low as 9HZ, the end result just comes down to the monitor manufacturers and the type of panel used.

PCM2 (pcmonitors.info) has stated that the benq freesync range operates between 40-144.
