AMD FX 8320 analysis

The STX is supposed to be amazing for top end headphones and extremely good for music. The SBZ is lower quality but has CMSS3D, which is much better than dolby digital (which I used to use) if you want to use either.

I just use it plain to be honest, don't mess with EQ or anything, just unadulterated Stereo.

I'm confused though why this is an issue. The higher end motherboard sound chips are mostly just standard ones but isolated, it's an important point if you're buying is influenced by the sound.

It's not an issue, it's just further misrepresentation which no one ever bothers to address.
I'd say the same if it was someone bigging up any other board.

Argh.

To mention that it's still Realtek, despite marketing that hides that.

Agh, fair enough.
You'll have to ask Nikki.

Its just Mr smartini wanting to be the big i am know it all

Except it's not, I just don't like misrepresentation.

If my R9 was advertised as 947MHZ Stock, I'd point out again that it's misrepresentation, as there isn't a base clock given, 947 is its "Upto" speed.

EDIT : In fact, my Maximus VI also has the same sound as the Crosshair, the same marketing BS.

but there was'nt really any need for you too mention that the sound was both realtek no1 asked what sound chip was on both what was said is that the chf-z has better onboard sound which it does over the sabre "end of"

what the guy said thats interested in the boards in question

And because of that he ruled out the sabrekitty

I should have pointed out that sound is very important to me so maybe the extra for the chv trouble is the nic want be need wifi and neither would the three way sli

The CHF is the best AM3+ board, but the sound isn't as good £30 discrete card. If you want Intel NIC and the other high end features, just add on a discrete card.

(That's not to say the CHF sound isn't better than standard motherboards - it is)

But you might also find that the sound on the CHF-Z is perfect for you so if i was you and

got that board i would try it out and then get a discrete card after if needed same goes

with any board you choose

Sorry i am really starting to drag this thread off topic ALXAndy i really am sorry as mentioned the device i need to use to type wont let me start my own threads and i dont know anyone here to ask them to post one for me.

So a seperate sound card is still worth getting despite good onboard sound?

Allow 8 gig will be enougth despite some games wanting 6 gig minimum

Just a quick update on BF4 fps testing. I repeated the procedure I had been through previously following the new patch on the game.

Here is a chart of the average of 5 fps runs on Baku. This is with ultra settings. I seem to have around 10 fps higher average and higher maximums. Minimums have remained similar.

There seems to be a bit of a farse with the game around some rendering of vegetation being the wrong way around between ultra and low settings but I haven't tested this.
