"AMD"Gaming evolved DVR beta

So now on the standalone do you keep frame rate above 60fps in towns and cities?
I'll after just back on it some time and see how it performs on my system.

To be honest it's all over the place, however the vast majority of time I'm at 60fps. Turning off SSAO and post processing really helps

However with Vsync you are more likely to drop to 30fps instead of just say 50fps with Dynamic

But wouldn't that make dynamic vsync keep switching on and off? So you still end up with screen tear?

only managed to get this to work in bf3 so far, nothing else i can find that i play :((

bf4 = nope
watch dogs = nope

Doesn't work with my 7990

I can't disable crossfire in CCC to use the loop around as posted earlier.

Yep not working for crossfire at the moment Jam and as you can't disable it via that method for a 7990, nothing you can do for now. Wait for the next version of Raptr, it will come in time.

Update has been released and now Planetside 2 works perfectly with no performance hit, AMAZING! :D

Excellent news. :)

Waiting patiently for crossfire game recording to be added, then i will probably ditch the excellent Mirillis Action. Glad AMD are getting their own version of ShadowPlay, but i will miss Mirillis. Nice little program.

Review here nice read.

Closing Thoughts
Wrapping things up, AMD tells us that they are expecting the Game DVR and Twitch features to exit beta later this summer. AMD and Raptr clearly have some polishing to do between now and then, but in the interim it’s already in a very usable and useful state.

As it stands AMD seems to have the basics nailed down for Game DVR, but from a competitive standpoint I don’t think there’s any getting around the fact that NVIDIA’s lead in developing recording software means that they still hold the edge in compatibility and functionality. AMD isn’t publishing a roadmap or feature list like NVIDIA did for Shadowplay so we won’t spend too much time speculating on what might be, but I’d certainly hope to see AMD continue to close the feature gap with NVIIDA. AMD doesn’t need 1:1 feature parity, but after having been spoiled by NVIDIA’s desktop capture, that’s really the last feature they need to make Game DVR a well-rounded utility.

No other recording app that i know of records to a quality standard; and do it with almost 0 performance loss as DVR. i'm really impressed with it.

Its a very welcome edition to a now growing portfolio of features.

Yeah the performance hit, is the biggest surprise for me. Wasn't expecting it tbh

I'm used to using Mirillis Action, which was about the best all-rounder i could find, even that could not hold a candle to the quality of DVR recording, which i though was good until i tested DVR, on high DVR is like for like. full screen the video and it looks exactly like the Game.

Mirillis Action also had a huge 30% performance hit, even using its AMD encoding setting....

Yeah, DVR is a huge surprise. :)

Mirillis Action got unistalled and binned.
