AMD has an answer to DLSS, DirectML Super Resolution

Looks the same to me so I'll play with dlss on
Lol. You need to go specsavers asap then. Not only can you not see the image properly, but you are missing out all the posts of people taking the **** out of DLSS :p

The truth likely is that you can see both :D

@TNA also isn't tarnishment a potentially big problem too? Think of all the poor shiny RT surfaces, all dull and not all reflective.

:(
Lol.

The images posted look the same to me, meh. Most of the time DLSS looks better, so I suppose that it looks the same is a failure, clutching at straws TNA

It is his Green tinted glasses.:p

Come on man have another look. In this case the dlss off images clearly look better. Reason being they look sharper and clearer. This is way easier to see in the top images. DLSS is becoming a decent tech over time but at least admit when it falls short.

Is it really too out there to think someone can't actually tell the difference? I mean there are people who STILL can't tell 30fps from 144fps by their own claim so this isn't a stretch

But he could not see all the negative comments either. How can you not see those? I pointed it out in two different threads and he said he could not see those comments. What does that tell you?

Exactly. This is why no one can take him seriously as he is full of bias :p

Its like the Pepsi cola test of the 80's. Where the vast majority of the consumers couldn't tell the difference (also supposed 'experts' would get the brand wrong! - i.e. they are self proclaimed experts yet have no substance). A minority of either pole could differentiate.

TLDR: Its wasted on a lot of people.

Haha. I remember taking that test as a little kid. It was easy and I won a little toy when I got it right as I recall. There is a big difference between Pepsi and Coca-Cola IMO.

I know but it proves a good point. There are a big % that cant tell, then you get the 10% of either end that can tell which is exactly coke/pepsi. If you watch some Coffee episodes it kills me every time when a highly rated barrista or 'expert' takes a taste test and picks either the wrong brand or rates the cheaper than premium higher - tells you the scale of the issue in everyday perception.

Side by side, I can tell they are different, but I couldn't tell you which was which just based on taste. Hell, the only cola I can identify with 100% accuracy is Fentimans, and I have no problem drinking supermarket own-brand cola either :p

Fentimans is disgusting. Lol.

They call it Curiosity Cola, so I got curious and tried it. Horrible stuff.

Precisely, I watched a tuber video where the host puts himself and his staff through some games at different resolutions and different refresh rates. Needless to say they all got it wrong and one of them was an e-sport guy.#

Side-by-side these things are hard to distinguish to the regular eye especially when playing in real time.

I do however see people's angle. I have a 4k monitor, the wife got me it for xmas and was a rare one I get anything other than socks+pants being a dad of three. I now go to the tv's in the house which are either HD1080p or Ultra HD and they look incredibly blocky especially on broadcast content. This means I could not go back to regular 1080p after the eyes are now used to a 4k screen, so yes I can tell the difference as I use it all the time.

I'm more of a relative PPI man myself, my 1080p 13" laptop looked as good as my 1440p 32", just smaller :P
