AMD - How to Change The Power Control/Limit from +20% to +50%

I did tests today on allbenchmark
Standard +20

haxed +50

I cant see any big gains in points :P I ran tests many times and well it does not seem to give us any points.

But WoW in 3D does seem to run smoother on +35%
Maybe its more visible in other tests i cant tell :/

good find....might try to get rid of some of that vdroop i get under load atm. Did you find it helped keep your top OC voltage steady?

Much better at keeping the voltage where it should be, I was suffering from those spikes in the above AB gpu usage shots with both gpu's in some titles even@stock, but that's using the 'Boost' bios.

Stable clocks are up 10-20MHz, not much but I'm on air, proper full plate WC'ing may yield better gains.

:)

Ok I ran some more tests 1200/1650 clocks
testevt.jpg

0-20 does give some extra score
20-35 does nothing to score.
When i get some chance ill try to push clock higher with +35. Atm max i got out of it was 1250 that can run benchmark sometimes without driver crash.

It would be cool if one of 1300mhz+ club guys would give us some numbers :P

tommybhoy could do if your card would downclock or something cause of passing tdp+20%.

I will do more tests when i am bored :P

From what I have read up, increasing this wont boost no score as its increasing the Motherboard's power line to the PCI-E to allow better Overclocking.
So by rights increasing this should allow you to increase the cards Overclock with a lower voltage increase?

That's how I understanding it.

I would be also interested to know this

I'm not a performing monkey! :D

I won't be able to resist trying it out over the weekend though.

:D

The other question I have is how much voltage drop they is and is it worth it really. I mean will it drop voltage enough to see a change in heat.

because for me going from 1.031 to 1.131 was about 10c increase in some games. So if I could knock of about 5c I would be happy :)

Fresh reset in WoW so i wont have much testing time. Still i will do some messing around with clock.
Thing is temperatures are not issue for me atm. Max i had after adding second radiator in between Cpu and GPU with +35% was 54c on gpu. And that was on Monday where temperature was higher than ever.
