AMD - How To Overclock The Official Way Using Afterburner + Step By Step Overclocking Guide + Comple

Current settings :-

fans auto - volts (mv 1275)power limit +5 % 1115 + 1725 - temp =77 = score 2160

Is the temp are fair temp or it running too hot ?!

Where should i be going from here MV wise , Core and memory speeds....what is the max score i am likely to achieve ? as i may just leave it set as it is if for example , i am only likely to achieve a 2 % or so further improvement.

I do not want to over stress my card , as it is 2nd hand with no warranty , but i would like to overclock to a good speed but not over stress it :)

One thing i have noticed is that if the fans are on full or on auto at the current settings the temp remains pretty much the same.

Advice please ...

Test reports :-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Voltage is unlocked already on my VTX3D 7970 X-edition , i have checked this using the test method on page 1 :)

graphics card stock speed(1050 + 1425) , stock volts (1194) fan auto score 1923

fans auto - stock volts (mv 1194)1085 + 1575 = score 2035

fans auto - stock volts (mv 1194)1100 + 1625 temp = 72 score 2093

fans auto - stock volts (mv 1194)1100 + 1675 temp = score = 2123

fans auto - stock volts (mv 1194)1105 + 1700 temp 74 = 2133

fans auto - stock volts (mv 1194) 1115+ 1710 temp 74-75 = 2153

fans full 100% - stock volts (mv 1194)1115+ 1710 temp 74-75 = 2149 fans on full

Started to show artifacts ****fans full 100% - stock volts (mv 1194)1125+ 1725 temp 74-75 = 2166 fans on full ***

Scaled back graphics 100 % fine no artifacts ****fans auto - stock volts (mv 1194)1110 + 1725 - temp 70 = 2152 fans on full ****

fans on full - volts (mv 1250)1110 + 1725 - temp 74 = 2121

fans on full - volts (mv 1250)1110 + 1725 - temp 74 = 2121
Power limit set to std + 0

Just got a 7950 and noticed gpu-z reports voltages wrong ? I put in 1.00 volts and it's reporting back as it's hitting 1.498 volts when I run heaven bench and click on max voltage hit sensor on gpu-z VDCC.How can it hit 1.498 volts the limit is 1.3 on msi afterburner ?

Does anyone know if the overclocking method on post 1 is still current for overclocking crossfire 7950's on win10? I have sourced the latest versions of the programs mentioned there. Since I want to start playing about with this.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for letting me know. Is there an official stance on 1 bridge or 2? as when I went to 2 bridges, the firestrike bench just seemed a bit smoother and got a small 11 point bump (which could be a fluke).

It's been a while since i tested it to be honest, but from memory i don't recall there being any difference. If you have two bridges attached only one is used.

My card seems to be voltage locked but I can bump it from 945 MHz to 1000 MHz. Got driver crashes at 1025 MHz unfortunately. Haven't tried to find max VRAM clock yet but a bump from 1400 MHz to 1450 MHz works. Was stable for a 4 hour Dying Light session. :D
