im on a 1700 at the moment, and yes that's the issue, can i flash now and get the 5000 series cpu later or do i need one now if the bios drops 1st gen support.

either way i wont be flashing until i have a cpu, just frustrating how little info asus has released.
You literally don't need any info, its the same as any other BIOS flash when adding compatibility, you flash the BIOS then put the new CPU in, job done. If there was anything more complicated about it you'd see a readme.txt or similar or changelog.txt etc.
I have flashed over a dozen different B350/X370 boards for 5xxx compatibility and even though ASUS were late to the party, they've been the simplest along with some of the Gigabyte boards.
I flashed my C6H to latest release, left the 1700 in to check all was ok, found the new bonus was actually better for the 1700 too, then dropped the 5950x in, only issue I had was video out, must have knocked the card, re-seating it fixed the issue and the 5950x is running nicely

Anybody seen reports or personally tried a Gigabyte AX370 Gaming K7 rev.1.0 with 5800x or 3D or 5900x processors? Thinking I might update my 1800x for a few years extra longevity
Thanks for the swift response, sound positive!Yes 5xxx series parts work fine in that board with BIOS version T51e and above, F51g has support for the 5800X3D and also the new AGESA 1.2.0.7 for Cezanne parts as well.
