When was the last time AMD launched a killer product?
Maybe the already spoken of HD 5870 - the first 40nm GPU that held the performance crown from September 2009 till March 2010, together with the dual-GPU HD 5970.
AMD bet on the so called 'sweet spot' GPU dies and doubling the dies in dual-GPU cards.
Radeon X1650 XT Dual,
HD 3870 X2,
HD 4870 X2,
HD 5970,
HD 6990,
HD 7990,
R9 295X2,
Pro Duo,
Pro Duo Polaris.
The last two being for the prosumer market segment.
So, despite all the efforts during the years, today you can't find dual-GPU gaming graphics cards.
Which means that AMD has failed not only in producing enthusiast-level competing graphics cards, but also in making CrossFire work.
