I want to see JayZ2Cents and Steve Burke have to change their CPU test rigs to a Sapphire RX 3900XT and their GPU test rigs to Ryzen 5900XT.
That would be so delicious and don't dismiss one of those coming to pass, I'm investing in Popcorn![]()
Claim CPU Gaming crown - embargos on testing lifts betwen Oct 8th and 28th - show RDNA2 combined with Ryzen 4000 and the performance on the table.
Boom!
That will be good to see, will consider a 4000 series myself.
@GAC - Yes, you’re old. Don’t worry, I am too![]()
Rich old dudes? LOL... if you think everyone over 14-24 (by far the biggest age range category of Fortnite) is 'rich' then you really do live under a rock.It is a fact however, that on average people of an older working age will have more disposable income to spend on expensive GPU's
I'm not offended BY Fortnite, I was just irked by the principle AMD making such a targeted release of news that is significant to all AMD fans. If you don't agree then that's fine.
The RX 6000 cooler design image and fortnite stuff was just a distraction and whether you liked it or not, most of you lapped it up
I wonder if Series X SOC yields will be affected?
Hahaha, well I'm 46 in November... and I'm creaking a little nowadays...is the average age on this forum 45?![]()

Each marketing strategy has it's pros and cons, in this case there is a very popular game, the average user base is young, who are relying on their parents income -> When they see these products in the game, they are targeted with the message - This is what You need ... for whatever reason, so they go to their parents/grandparents to get these cards.
I play now WoW Classic, that is a good, mature (but also a lot of female and young players) but still funny and helpful community, I can expect the community of Fortnight is cool too for their audience. I never played that game btw.
In short get most popular games, feed the information and show the product is as cool as that game -> higher chance to win. Build the brand image for your targeting audience in that game. 79 million players maybe not wrong.
Where you make a noise everytime up get in and out of a chair.... its all down hill from here.
Nvidia seem to think the "kids" can afford an Ampere card to beneft from the RT and DLSS upgrades, so clearly there's a market for AMD to tap into too. I wonder if AMD would bundle some kind of booster with a RX 6000 purchase that kicks in on the AMD maps? Buy Big Navi, get X booster, pwn chumps on the AMD maps.If we consider the Halo effect to be real. Even if these "kids" can't afford a big navi product they could afford anything AMD releases lower down the product tier. A good way to win mind share if they make AMD GPUs the "cool" card.
If we consider that some parents are paying for Fortnite Tutors, such a deal might have stock flying off the shelves.Nvidia seem to think the "kids" can afford an Ampere card to beneft from the RT and DLSS upgrades, so clearly there's a market for AMD to tap into too. Yep thankfully blowers are a thing of the past. I loved the performance of my 290s but they were hot and noisy and felt and looked cheap compared to my FE 980TIs.I can't believe people are pouting because AMD stuck the teaser in fortnite. Well they got all of us hook line and sinker because we are talking about it.
It is a good looking card, good to see that AMD have decided not to shoot themselves in the foot with a rubbish design.
Is anyone keep track of all the ways AMD messes up their own GPU launches? It seems like we can cross off rubbish reference design from that list.
