Holy crap!

65 minimum in BF3! Is that performance typical? Do you get worse benches on other maps?

Do you know how to install regular applications?

If ATI - express unistall, reboot, delete the folders under program files, install new drivers.

If Nvidia unistall the display driver in add remove programs, reboot, proceed to uninstall all the other nvidia bits and peices, reboot, install new drivers...

Why is any of that confusing?????

I heard display drivers have finicky drivers when it comes to uninstallations and installing new ones over them is all.

What do you mean you underclock the core i thought no 7970 has a core at that speed stock;)

From his usual max oc on the core, matts going for raw bandwith with higher clocks on the memory to improve mins using Max MSAA(I think).

"Never Settle" is why I moved to Nvidia :p

Just a question guys, back when Nvidia had that issue with a driver which caused GPU's to over heat, where they beta's?

For this example, lets just say they where, and they broke your gpu, is that covered by warranty?

No change there then?:p

:)

Just ran a heaven benchmark and got 1839 score on my 1050/1425 clock stock 7970 using 12.8

12.11 score rose to 1903. Nice improvement!

Just thought I'd try and get a rough idea of a 7950/7970 clock for clock Heaven comparison so I put mine at 1050/1425 and scored 1871.

Wonder how many fps 32 heaven points works out as? :p

I'm kicking myself that I never saw the review of an AC Extreme 79 sitting on top of the His-IceQ 7950, if I knew it fitted for sure, it would never have gone back, there was nothing between the great clocking 50 I had and my average clocking 70.:(

Some lucky sod has got themselves a very good clocker in B-grade, and they might not even know.

LtMatt are you adding any extra voltage to get those memory clocks? I'm surprised it's that, that's getting you such great minimums with 4xMSAA

They will never clock it and play on a 60" TV that is HD ready :p

Edit: and play BF3 with a joypad :D

That must sting a little.

I went out of my way to get this specific card with it's ref 7970 pcb/8+6pin blahblah thinking it'd be almost guaranteed 1200 or so, but nope. Baby don't dig a lot of voltage, so we're staying at 1150/1425 as the memory's a stubborn sod too.

Still, can't complain too much I guess.

Is that with the Peter on as well? Bummer. I run my reference at 1100/1575 on stock just so I don't have to muck around with extra cooling and AB. It'll do 1200/1650 but the fan is so loud and I can't be bothered to spent the extra £50 plus for that extra 100Hz. My chip is very similar to matt's Voltage wise though so I might see if I can get a little more out of it at stock, maybe with the unlocked Asus bios...

We sure have Petey. We cross our fingers once we start ramping things up and preying it to be good. Sometimes we get lucky, others not so.

MSI 7950 TF2 V2?

I'm able to get 1200 core on my TF2 (version 1) but have to raise the volts slightly above 1.2 which I don't want to run at 24/7.

Anyway these drivers are getting 4 fps more in Heaven compared to 12.8.
Not loads but free all the same :D
