AMD Opteron 170 lowered in price!

45 degrees is a very good value considering the fact that these 170's run quite hot. But imo you can forget running 1.5 Volt through it, temps will go a lot higher then. That's one of the reasons I have finally decided (and not regretting) to opt for a decent (not the Bigwater crap) watercooling setup.

Well I have the Akaka eclipse case with two 120mm fans so air flow is not beaten in this case IMO.

Its so roomy it allows the bits inside to breathe a bit.

Personal experience: Stay away from this stepping!!!! OCUK is selling these in high numbers. My Opteron 170 is already crapping out at 2.5GHz, a true dissapointment. Avoid at all costs

if there was a price drop, its probablly because there were new CPU's that came out ie the 175 and 180's

You may just have been a bit unlucky. It's also still a 500Mhz overlock (25%), which isn't bad for a 2GHz CPU, really
