AMD OWNERS ONLY what cpu do you have

Currently sitting on my Phenom II 965BE still at 4Ghz.

Runs every game released flawlessly, and no doubt will keep doing so until 2014. Any upgrade from this CPU would be a complete waste of time for games. Why run an i5/i7 at 5Ghz only for it to die in a years time for 2-3% FPS gain in games? Seems retarded to me! :)

I paid a total of £330 for this rig (mobo+ram+CPU+GFX+PSU+Cooler+Fans) and had it over 1 year now.

Still yet to come across a game which this won't run on max (apart from AA which you don't need at all @ 1080).

@nkata what a nice selection of CPUs you have had

@Alkalinepro5 Pleased you have had great sucess with your 965BE i have heard they are a great chip and you are using the best board with it as well at least if you wanted to upgrade to PD when it is released you will be able to but if you able to play all games with no fault the there is no point

Currently running:

AMD FX8150 @ 4.4GHz (1.32 vcore) 18.5 multiplier x 238 FSB
Asus Crosshair V Formula (1402 Bios)
2 x GTX580 860MHz GPU (1.088mv) 2048Mhz Memory Clock.
16GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz
Water-Cooled

Maybe PD + 8GB 1600 + Radeon 8000 / GTX700 series in a year. :P

Depending on if I can still run everything satisfactory ofcourse, and if PD performs much better than BD!

I really don't want to part with my mobo because as you are it's a top quality board!

My much underused gaming rig. Only goes on when my sisters boys visit or I feel it needs an update.

Asus HD6870 DirectCU GC.
Antec TruePower New Modular 650W PSU
Pioneer DVD Writer
Meghalem with AMD Mounting kit with Nexus Basic 120mm Push/pull.
Vista HP installed

OC'd the cpu to 3.9 on stock voltage
Unlocked to x 4 & OC'd to 3.7.

@mna24 can i ask so you have any bottlenecking since its been claimed there is with these CPUs also nice OC are you able to take it further

At stock 3.6Ghz I do have bottlenecking but its either gone or pretty much gone when im running 4.4Ghz. Playing BF3 single playing im hitting 100% usage, online im bouncing between 90% and 100% GPU usage but that is giving anything from 80FPS to 140FPS so its pretty sweet. If GPU usage was at a constant 100% I wouldn't notice the difference to what I'm pulling.

I could certainly take my over clock to something like 4.6Ghz but because I'm only running 360mm worth of Rad space id be out of my comfort zone for cooling capacity in my Corsair 650D so maybe in the future if I switch case that can take larger Rads id go for 4.6Ghz or even 4.8Ghz.

a lot of Builds for people and for me only had 3 Intel CPUs in 10 year all the rest have been AMD and all the builds apart 1 have been AMD as well

I had the following:

Pentium 2 233mhz
Pentium 4 2.4Ghz
AMD Athlon x 2 4800+
AMD Phenom x 3 720
AMD Phenom II x 4 955

and now my current FX8150, I have always gone AMD when building my systems due to the pricing of motherboard and the CPU. They have always had the desired performance.

I've always built by overclock potential, And I've always built AMD.

Never owned an Intel machine. Built them and benchmarked them, but never had the pleasure of owning one.

My first system was a Cyrix. So we'll ignore that one.

Then I went to AMD an I've never looked back.

AMD 400 - Wouldnt really overclock very far so never did much with it
2500M Overclocked to well above 3200 Barton Spec
Opteron 146 @ 3ghz
Opteron 185 @ 2.8ghz

My next purchase is going to be a 2nd hand 1055t or 1090t, I'm going to pair it off with a GPU capable of Hardware transcoding as it's going to be a media storage box, while also running XBMC.

My next gaming rig is intel, But I wont mention any specifics :p We'll keep this AMD specific

I was originally waiting for Bulldozer, but we all know how that one turned out.

Still serving me fine mind, probably move over to whomever has the best performance / cost / power usage come the 'next generation'.

Current build is an Phenom II X4 960 unlocked to X6.

4GHz @1.37v (6 cores), turbo 4.4GHz @ 1.48v (6 cores).
FSB 250MHz / NorthBridge 3GHz
Asus Sabertooth 990FX
16GB DDR3, ~1.7GHz stock volts.

Idles around mid 30's which is pretty impressive, peak is 'just' 51'c under sustained load.

Other spec for those interested is as follows:

Sapphire HD 7850
2x 23" Samsung monitors
2x 64GB Crucial M4 (OS and key apps)
3x 256GB Crucial M4 (apps and data)
Antec P280 (gorgeous case)
BeQuiet! 600W Straightpower Silent Gold (92% efficient)
Cyberpower DX800 UPS

I have a Micro server with an AMD chip... does that count?

Everything else is Intel - cause they're awesome and sooooo much better.

Just kidding :)
