Would be interesting - but people are quick to forget the pre-launch hype of previous AMD generations so I wouldn't hold my breath based on twitter comments - anyone remember the ones from Dice?
AMD's marketing director seems to confirm that their first round of releases will be targeting mainstream however.

He could just make a thread called 1070 vs polaris, instead he is spamming in here and legitimate polaris news starts to get buried
We are all technology fans and get that the companies only care about shareholders, but polaris is not even out yet for you to compare... Just comes of like spamming when every single post is about nvidia somehow. Paint nvidia in good light, make amd look bad seems to be your theme

Own up to what. I freely admit that I am a fan of Nvidia support for linux, openGL and CUDA. I regard both companies the same, out to get your money and not to be trusted. I admit to be a huge AMD fanboy back in the thunderbird days.
That said about the only recent information about Polaris of any consequence is that it can play Doom atleast as fast as a GTX970 - but with a capped framerate impossible to say how much faster.

I never started the dicussion, i just joined in and im just continuing an interesting debate.if you aren't I retested then no one is forcing you to read the post.
If you think the Pascal comparison does not belong in this thread you could have told the original posters.
I would post Polaris news if there was anything. The Macau event was sticky under NDA so there is not much to report. Amd doing their same frame capped demos doesn't tell us squat unfortunately.

If that review of the 1070s anything to go by, then Nvidia have an absolute cracker on their hands, if they price it right, it'll be bloody flying off the shelves

Why bother? they are going to post the same pascal/nvidia comments all over again which would be fine if it were compared to actual polaris news/leaks/performance numbers. Its always the same offenders.

Quite agree and there is many threads to discuss elections and Apple products
Half the people moaning about off topic should look to what they themselves post before whinging. Polaris is coming and looks to be roughly the speed of the Nano (480 or possibly 480X card) according to Whycry over at Videocardz. Hopefully the price will suit budgets here.

Had the sound off before - is it me or is the music in those videos from that party incredibly **** ?
Half the people have 1 or 2 off topic posts, but some have a lot more and their posts are all about nvidia oh yes they do mention amd/polaris as such not really off topic but as 90% is about 1070/80 they derail the thread which is their intention, there is enough 1070/80 threads as it is.
Was just going to post that haha. Looks like fun.
