About time they were out tbh, as theres loads of people who already have their headsets waiting for them, and those waiting for them, before buying theirs.

I just think it's to hide the full performance. Minimums above 60 put it at gtx980 or above. Everyone is still guessing as to how good it is. One thing to keep in mind is there is no 390x in there which probably would be faster than the gtx980.

I'd like to think this too but why hide it? With Nvidia already showing their hand it's fruitless to hide performance. It would be better if they release some real figures so people who are wanting to buy 1070 may decide to hold off buying it.

To make sure Nvidia can't react with pricing. It's all to keep the opposition guessing. A few sales lost is nothing if you catch your opposition napping and gain more but from the rumors they won't be competing in the same price brackets. Polaris may well be going up against the 1060 price wise which is not around so why give anything away.

1050/60? would be the main cards which is against polaris which are not out yet, yes polaris might reach the 1070 but I am not sure myself really.

Along with the potential DX11 improvements it really could be a great all-round card

(and the reason nVidia seems to have rushed out the 1070/1080)

That would be great. A nice feat, being on a much smaller die. That would mean AMD could afford to sell it at a decent price while still making a nice profit.

That would indeed be awesome, we really need this kind of competition. Though it threatens to upset some posters here who live their lives based on NVIDIA's success. I predict they will be along in this thread soon.
