** AMD R290X NOW AVAILABLE & OVERCLOCKING REVIEW!! **

Not that I'm struggling 'hugely' with my i7 920 and GTX 670 setup, I have this irritating itch that I think only building a new gaming pc could satisfy.

I'm thinking a R9 290 (pro?) could be in order, but if I do that I have a feeling that I should go all out and give it a socket 2011 and 4930K to play with, but those prices scare me. lol (pity amd's cpu's weren't a bit quicker gaming wise then I can feed one of these with an nice 8 core cpu)

Ah, decisions... lol

P.S. nice prices and review.

Yes, it would be capable, but given the heat this card seems to put out, if I was WC it, I would be doing so to get best out of it so would want as much rad space as possible. Dont think I would go to expense of WC it without 2x120 rad space at least, in its own loop. In a loop with CPU would be 3x120 minimum, but most likely 4x120.

Also depends on the thickness and efficiency of rads, plus tr kind of fans and acoustics you are willing to bare!

Thanks i wasnt sure, il probably try fit a 2x120 rad in if possible

Another option would be to use something like this, when a 290X version is released. It wont be as good as a custom loop for temps most likely, but it will be a hell of a lot less expensive!

http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/vga/569/accelero-hybrid.html!

I cant speak for the hybrid water & air cooler, but the Accelero 7970 Xtreme is a terrific cooler so Arctic know what they are doing with aftermarket cooling solutions!

Looks like a good card, but sounds like the cooling solution needs to mature some before it's really worth it.

Have to admit I had been waiting for this card but I'm happy I jumped for a 7990 at £450 last week. There's no coil whine either.
