AMD R9 290 (Non-X, Pro, etc) Owners Club

:( but I like my reference card. Its working very well with my new case mod. I'm not sure I'd want a different one!

Ah well in that case get the seller to ask OcuK to see if they can get one, or at least offer him a refund so you can get your cash back. Reference 290's are EOL now. Auction site or rainforest will be your best bet.

So you want a hairdryer that fits in with your case ;)

I really don't see why people are so against these reference cards, calling them hair dryers. I've never had a sound problem with it. Yes the fan can be loud underload, but all it takes is a few little tweaks and you've got a powerful quiet card. Due to my case being a micro ATX, Parvum S2.0, I'd much rather have a reference card venting the heat out the back than one with a 3rd party cooler dumping it in my case.

The reference cards seem to be the only card at the moment which don't have issues with artifacting, black screens and pretty squares as they've not been overclocked by the 3rd party manufacturers. I'm sure the number is low, but I have no intention of buying anything other than reference. If worse comes to worst, I'll get a reference 780! :(

I might be able to sell you one of mine early if you really need it snips, like in a week or two.

Hold up whats going on matt could it be an arrival of a 295x making you sell one of your 290's

Thinking about a couple of AIB 290X's, but likely i would just get one initially to see if i get on with it. Then possibly add a second at a later date. Or i could just wait for the 295 XTX. :cool:

Or he's going green :D:eek::D

Don't fancy downgrading tbh mate. :p

Busy night ahead. :o

The vapour x is a really nice looking card in the flesh, just have to wait on corsair getting this bracket thing out to liquid cool the msi card and have a pretty quiet running system :) Hopefully buy a large capacity ssd by the end of the year and have zero mechanical hard drives.
