AMD R9 290 (Non-X, Pro, etc) Owners Club

Btw i have a 290, will take a box shot for you later, i have a benchmark in the Heaven Thread also. Funny how people that dont own 290's are experts on how bad, hot and noisy they are. Some moron on the General Hardware thread with a 7950 telling me how bad my 290 is..

Custom fan profile, running it at stock, headset on, i cant see any issue to be fair.

What would you say is the best cooler I could slap on this, is there one that doesn't add any extra length than the stock cooler? Also, considering I haven't done this before, one that is relatively easy. I was looking at the gelid icy vision REV. 2, cheap, and is very short at 216mm or something like that. Its just things like the little vrm heatsink that i know nothing about. Or if it is even worth it.

The Accelero Xtreme 3 is somewhat longer than the stock cooler.

Be proud peasant 290 Pro owners. We're beating out considerably more expensive gpu's.

Iv just run test on my "Black Screen" prone 290 ..... Watch the video link below and see what you think :/ very strange that it dies at the same place on both Windows and Linux :/

Can anyone else run this benchmark on their 290's ?

Id like to know if other with the black screen error's die in the same place

Try using a custom fan speed of 55%. Does it still happen?

i run heaven without issue, any particular settings you want me to try? and i run a custom fan curve in afterburner

ok when i set my clocks back to 1000/1250 with msi afterburner it shows in gpuz that it does it, but when i restart the pc the clocks are then set to 1150/1425 and are also like this if i reset the clocks in afterburner.
Now i dont have it auto apply clocks on windows start up and this happens even if i un-install afterburner?

Anything i can do to see whats causing this?

update the option extend official overclocking limits when ticked is causing this at present very odd.

Testing out some overclocks on my 290 crossfire setup. At stock voltage + stock aux voltage 1100/1400 appears to be 'bench' stable on both cards. Good or bad? Will push it further once ive completed a round of benchmarks at these clocks.

Its expected. Try 1150/1450-1500.

A quick dust off and sat my 120mm Viper back on to blow air over the Core and Vrm's, this is going to be one of the coolest 290's on air out there. :D
