Amd Radeon next move?

It just seems an odd thing that now he's a Community Manager his presence in this community is significantly reduced.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the role.

They are under strict rules on what they can communicate. He's not going come in here and defend AMD like raging fanboy, and with that he now has very little to post about compared to when he was not under AMD.

I doubt AMD would pass on any information regarding their future plans/GPUs to the community managers.

He's online, just selling his GPU's :p

To fund a 970/980/SLI :p

Hit the nail on the head.

You could right.

Maybe AMD have nothing to say to us at this time leaving buyers to make their decisions without a hint of what's to come.

I've been contemplating a graphics card upgrade for a while and it could well have been R9 290 based. With the release of the GTX 970 that's all changed and AMD aren't providing any information to suggest they'll have a viable alternative in the near future.

If they have something I'm sure they will tease it soon to take some of the shine off Nvidia's new cards, if we don't here anything then it's time to worry.

I don't know what the main reason was for him getting the job but I doubt that the copious pro AMD posting on this forum and elsewhere did him any harm.

Anyone who regularly reads this section of the forum can't have failed to notice the sudden change in posting between LTMatt and AMDMatt.

As AMD Community Manager, and AMD Rep here, this is the sort of thread he should be posting in.

Perhaps we'll hear from him later.

He's too busy desperately trying to flog off his collection of AMD cards while they're still worth something!

I think he needs to lower his prices by about 50% in light of the 970/980 release!

He can sell them at what he wants it's profiteering as they were a gift. I've still got my 8GB 290X here, it's a limited edition card and it cost me nothing as a gift from AMD.

Just saying...

I thought they might have been freebies. Pure profit then.

Guys, Matt is a community manager. The extent of NDA information community managers get is pretty much a twitter password and Huddy's phone number.

The people who could answer the questions about AMD's answer for maxwell (and properly, not just some random PR line and maybe a hint at an upcoming bundle or something), especially in the long term are top execs and actual engineers.

Exactly this, anyone thinking that Matt can say what he likes is just dreaming.

Soo want to be an Nvidia community manager, free titan!

What is the criteria to get such a job? be a raging Nvidia fanboy and **** off AMD.
