The game is going to be fun. No debate to be had there. What's interesting to me is the pre mantle and post mantle performance on 7950 crossfire. I expect 1440p Ultra x4AA to push my crossfire setup to the limits and i'd expect to see vram usage over 2gb as well, depending on the map.

Sound less so. It does sound like a nice addition (terrible pun ) but nothing to wet your pants about.

well with Mantle and Bf4 they state it will run circles around Titan.
I expect a 40% or such performance gap there.

I'm all for mantle but that quote sounds almost like its been made up. I think we need a grain of salt with that tbh until we see performance. However its obviously going to give some advantage.

Now if that means, 10%, 10fps or 20, I dont know, I view this from the 2018 statement and 3 generations of hardware progress with 9x drawcalls better I expect 40% would be in the ballpark with the 290.

Sounds too good to be true. Also wouldn't surprise me if he had been misquoted. Nonetheless, interesting times ahead.

I hear you on the audio but its good to see new stuff being created. The problem is everyone was hoping for more gpu information. Well not long to go i suppose.

I know mate. It would be awesum if it was but better than a titan by 40%? I would put money on that being nonsense. I said last night that if the top end card was a titan beater they would have been shouting to anyone who would listen but instead made a throwaway comment at the start that it was "their" fastest card. Its all well and good beating titan in BF4 but one game isnt enough for me. Sorry if that sounds like I'm hating,honestly I'm not,I'm just a wee bit underwhelmed by the whole thing. With all the crazy talk of how good they were going to be before everyone realised the firestrike benches were performance and not extreme and all the "lol nvidia" and "haha nvidia yoo suckz" I was considering selling my 780s while they were worth something near what I paid for them but I think they gonna last me until maxwell now. Still hoping they pull something out the bag and suprise me though as I dont care wether I buy red or green.

Sounds perfectly logical to me mate.

Its funny when a few days back we have Ryan saying on oc.net forums that his 'source' in the AMD driver team said the fix may not be coming for months and that was his reason for his part in the 'AMD Has Issues' marketing campaign and posting it just before the Hawaii event. We've been holding onto this data for months, honest.

Thanks, didn't think they would go Mixed density, make sense, they would get a similar performance from 1750Mhz 384Bit as they would from ~1500Mhz 512Bit.

It also means those touted 1125 to 1250Mhz memory speeds are clearly wrong.

Woah, didn't see that coming. I thought the 512bit was definite.

Wait and see, i could be wrong but i can't see them just releasing a series of full fat GPU's only, what do they do with the salvage chips?

Like the 7950 and 7870XT are salvage chips from the 7970.

But i used the 512bit bus in some of my discussions. That immediately makes all those points invalid.

I'm giving up speculating, things keep changing on a daily basis.
