***** AMD RX 7900 SERIES AVAILABLE & IN STOCK TODAY FROM 2PM ****(BACK ORDER UPDATES WITHIN THIS THREAD)*

No, but having seen how the MBA performance with an undervolt and overclock of the memory, the higher power limits of AIB cards is appealing.
I'm tying myself in knots trying to decide whether to just accept the reference card or wait out for my aib card...

Plus side of the reference: Don't need to swap out my PSU. Fits easily in my case. £300 cheaper Could have it tomorrow and forget about it.
Downside: May be less performant and could regret keeping it when the nitros are back in stock.

Plus of the nitro: Looks good. Likely to be 20% faster. Comfort in knowing I got what I truly wanted.
Going to be a squeeze to get it in my case. Will need to replace PSU. Could be end of jan or february, I am impatient. £300 more expensive

Someone help me decide please

If you need a GPU right now stick with reference otherwise go nitro (disclaimer: I may be trying to shorten the MBA queue)

The MBA is solid, but is severely power limited. If you are happy with +5% faster than 4080 in rasta and 3090/3090 TI performance in Ray Tracing, go MBA. This can be improved with tuning, but if you want more performance than that in either metric, wait for the AIB Nitro (or other AIB) with a higher power limit which will bring more performance.

Personally, I'd wait. It's hard to do so I know.. but I think if you do, it will pay off.

Right.
I've just looked in the bathroom mirror, slapped myself in the face and told myself to wait.
Thanks guys

Yesterday I was so undecided. It was like 1359hrs and I had made up my mind that I would just settle with the 6900xt, no problems.. but I was on here and watching the products go live, not thinking that the Sapphire Nitro would be available for quite a while, but and as soon as I saw it available to buy just after 1400hrs, I just couldn't help myself and jumped on it.

I know dude.. sometimes it doesn't matter how much sense people talk to you. If you see an opportunity to get what you really want, then you got to take it.

Tbh, the ASUS TUF OC 7900XTX was my first choice. Sapphire Nitro+ was my second, but I'm so happy and grateful that I made the cut for the second batch shipment as I think it's actually the best out of the AIB bunch.

Or just add a water block which is the only reason an MBA should be purchased lol.

Doesn't solve the issue with the powerlimits though?
It does! The reduced temps save power allowing the power limit to go further.
I run my 6900xt at 1060mv 2499/2599 +15% power (293w) for lean settings. It's also about not letting the card take over its own voltage which is you push the clock it will.
I'm playing with a 6700 currently, 1999/2099 under clock is very efficient, 100w max the voltage slider is left at 1200mv and it uses just 937mv.
Really depends what you what to achieve.

The 7900 XTX is a different beast mate.
