AMD RX 7900 XT/XTX Upgrade discussion

Btw folks I have an EVGA Supernova G2 750W PSU. What do you guys think will be enough for the 7900XTX? I have 2 nvme SSD, 2 sata SSD and a HDD eith a Ryzen 5800x3d.

I have a 3080ti at the moment so I`ll be looking forward to the reviews on Monday to se how they compare at 4k, Id like to get 144 fps with all settings on ultra and RT isn`t important at the moment so I`m just looking at pure raster performance.

What I heard in rastwr the xtx will be around 10% faster then the 4080 the xt will be around 5-10% slover

Only one day to go and then we will know for sure where it stands and then it`s just down to pricing. I`m paying no attention to the leaked synthetic benchmarks and rumours, I just hope we`re not going to be disappointed and that it does bring some competition to Nvidia, which I suspect it will seeing as they have dropped the prices on the 4080 and 4090 FE models.

Correct me if i am wrong but they just sropped 5% off in EU because of the usd to eu exchange rate.

If they are sensibly priced then I want to get an XTX. I currently have an RX 6800 and this card will go into my sons PC. I want to get the stock reference card so it has a good choice of waterblocks and also sensible power draw , i am limited to single 360x60 rad with my build so low power consumption is important to me.

If the early benchmarks are correct with the XTX being approx 10% faster than a 4080 then the Nv card is sure to have a price drop, they are already sitting on the shelves and no way anyone would buy one after the AMD release.

I know this is not important to everyone but the new super wide PCBs on the 4080/4090 are a huge turn off for me. Just does not look right when vertically mounted in a waterblock and that is what I currently have and looking to have again with new card

I'm looking to get an rx7900xtx currently running my old gtx1070 seahawk. running 2x Samsung g7 odyssey 32in picked up a second a few days ago. i think the rx7900xtx will be quite an upgrade. i don't think ill get any bottle necking as the rest of my system is top noch

Can I ask what cpu you have?

I'm hoping to snag a 7900XT. It's probably all I need and I might have a better chance of getting one than the XTX.

I haven't really been following GPU news for years. I currently have a Radeon 480 and I'm hoping this will give me a little boost.

Yeah Tuesday will be new GPU day for me if I can get one, I really fancy a 7900xtx but seen a few bits that have put me off, if they are knocking around the 1200 mark I may go for a 4080 instead, seen them knocking around for £1099. I currently have a 7600xt (got it for insane pricing during the 'crisis' to tide me over but had to have it as my old trusty 970 died) using a 144hz 3400x1440 monitor, recently upgraded my mobo/ram and the cpu to 7950x so ideally I'd like to stick with team red but like I said if pricing and availability suck as does the worrying negativity online with performance I'll probably go hulk, I know filthy >.<. Interesting to see what all the benchamarks bring tomorrow :D
