AMD RYZEN 5000 SERIES 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X NOW ONLINE AT OcUK!!

yeah.. but its a bit suspicious that is just productivity.. no proper gaming leaks
I have a feeling they will still be behind overclocked Intel in gaming which if that turns out to be the case they might end up being as far behind as zen 2 currently are to comet lake when rocket lake releases.

Yeah with the 5950X hitting 5GHz boost pretty easy it seems, i doubt that

Well considering it's taken AMD a 30% IPC advantage 5ghz and 8 core CCXs with unified cache just to beat intels 5 year old arch by around 5% according to most of the titles that AMD showed off then it's a good chance that rocket lake will retake the gaming lead in 3 months and I hope they do as I want a Zen 3 chip upgrade at a reasonable price and not Intel prices.

I've not been using AMD for years (last was Opteron) so am wondering if Overclockers will be offering the bios flash service to motherboards for those like myself wanting one for the 5000 series of cpu's??

Most of the boards now come with a bios flashback feature which enables you to update the bios without a CPU being installed so if in doubt just pick a board that has this feature.

Do the newest boards not have a bios ready for the 5000 series of cpu's?

Thanks for replying Joxeon.

Depends on when the stock was bought. I’d assume the newly produced ones will have the latest bios - given that from production to retail is a couple weeks, and bios updates have only just started going out, I doubt any boards will be up-to-date before the 5th when the chips release.

The usb flash is pretty straightforward.
