It's the case with all setup's, if you're not within a few degrees of throttling then you're running your fans to high and making more noise than necessary. The only difference between a good/bad cooler/case is noise, with a bad cooler and/or badly ventilated case you'll need to run your fans faster causing more noise, with a good cooler and well ventilated case you can run them slower and have a quieter system.I would say that is not the case with my setup. The Noctua D15 with push / pull fans is a monster cooler. Add PBO tuner with a -30 offset. The 5800x3D can be tamed during CPU intensive gaming sessions. I also have a very well ventalated case.
45 seems a unlikely low. Especially if the coolant is that temp.Edit he's just said 45c reported temps in game and 35c coolant temp - not sure what ICUE measures
HWINFOWhat's best program for temps please ? I tried realtemp but I think it said CPU not supported
PBO tuner -30 playing spiderman, I'm seeing a mostly 4450 on all cores most of the time and the CPU runs cooler. You guys who've played with limbo strike and pbo tuner. Has it made a difference to the boosts you're getting? Especially in games? I mean that's why we have these chips right?
Yes, with Kombo strike 3 & my CPU undervolted by 0.1v I get a constant 4450mhz on all cores @ 72c to 75c full load(cinebench), without it my temps are good 10c+ higher & the CPU throttles down to 4150mhz to 4200mhz.You guys who've played with limbo strike and pbo tuner. Can you please run Cinebench multi-core and see what your max temps are? https://www.maxon.net/en/downloads/cinebench-r23-downloadsPBO tuner -30 playing spiderman, I'm seeing a mostly 4450 on all cores most of the time and the CPU runs cooler.
Using PBO with -30 on all cores have not seen any issuesAnyone seeing issues when gaming using Kombo strike or PBO tuner? I seem to recall someone saying something about it.
Thanks. Just switche don all core and selected negative and put in 30. (I assume you'll be the same as it sounds like an Asus feature at the minute)Using PBO with -30 on all cores have not seen any issues
Kombo strike 3 works really well- justa click on the bios and nice (relatively) cool chip for more perfomanceAnyone seeing issues when gaming using Kombo strike or PBO tuner? I seem to recall someone saying something about it.
I don't have Kombo strike being on Asus mobo but I have full curve optimiser access it seems.Kombo strike 3 works really well- justa click on the bios and nice (relatively) cool chip for more perfomance
I'll have to give prime a shot. Was -30 stable in gaming or did you not try it with issues on prime. I recall your previous post where you said you may try -27 but didn't see the point.PBO wasn't Prime stable for me at -30 on all cores. Settled with -25, which runs for hours stable for me.
Will do and let you know. Can you please run Cinebench multi-core and see what your max temps are? https://www.maxon.net/en/downloads/cinebench-r23-downloads
