AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

I got my 9800x3d yesterday, along with the build in my sig. I have been testing the undervolt but it doesn't make any difference to my temps in Cinebench. I

Go into your Bios, look for PBO and see if you've got Advanced or Enhancement. Set a temp limit! Try 90(Cinebench) Run some tests, then for games bring it down to 80 in bios. It will hit that as a temp limit, because with PBO set to auto/enabled there's no temp limits other than what your cooler can do.

I could leave mine at 90, but sometimes games doing shaders are a real **** and it hits 90C just for shaders. But it never gets near that in games, max is around 75C / average 55-65

Depends. What resolution do you game at ? If it's 4K you'll be GPU bound in most games and will see marginal difference in performance. At lower resolutions the difference is more noticeable, and there are some games that are more CPU bound eg. Flight Sim, Factorio, Satisfactory where you will see a clear uplift in performance.
Thanks for this , 4!K currently with a 7800xtx but trying g to source a 5090 at a decent price .

Probably get £270 to £300 for my 7800X3D in MM so I'm thinking for £180 ish it might be worth an upgrade.

Just to be clear, even with a 5090, you'll be GPU bound in most games whether you stick with a 7800X3D or upgrade to a 9800X3D. Btw, I sold my 7800X3D for £250 in MM. Last few have sold at that price ... £270 max.

Have there been any update on the reported issues with ASrock M/Bs and 9800X3D?. I'm finally looking to replace my i7 920 X58 based PC and was looking at a X870 ASRock RS Pro & 9800x3D combo but I'll a little worried about the compatibility
