AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

I must admit I like my storage.

Not so much into overclocking so went for the Asrock X870E Nova. 5 nvme slots. No PCIe lane sharing although it does mean a disabled pcie slot since I'm using all 5. Won't be using it anyway. Already got them all filled :)

Let us know your impressions of that board please. Does it feel premium? It seems almost too good to be true lol. Is there much purple in the build? I am tempted even though I shouldn't be!

I see OCUK also have stopped the pre order sales on the 9800X3D now and it says "notify me" to let you know when its back in stock.

These must have still been selling like mad for them to stop the pre orders on them now

Yeah Gibbo said 10,000 had been ordered. Surely it couldn't be that high the units sold? Maybe just been cautious in case they can't secure the full amount?

They've ordered 10,000 - not they GOT 10,000 :p I suspect their first batch was around 500 given that at one point Gibbo said they'd had 1200 orders in and weren't expecting to fulfil all of those till December

Yeah if we are going by units they had in it sounds like it was about 10 lol. I'm surprised they cut it off so early. Sure the graphic card ques were going well over a year at the rate stock was being received.

If I was buying new I wouldn't buy anything less than the x870. I believe only the x870 and the x870e have support for the latest interfaces. I don't see the point in buying a new mobo (especially if I'm getting a 9800x3d) and not have one with pcie 5 for example.

X670e mostly had better layouts and less compromises IMO, especially if you value NVMe.

Bare in mind I'm a novice when it comes to overclocking. Can I put this in eco mode with no loss of gaming performance? (Or maybe even a boost because it's running cooler). I did that with my 7600x and it was great.

Did everyone reformat when they installed their CPU?

I have been getting Chrome glitches. If I scroll a page down, sometimes it with only scroll down a small box segment of the screen, wait 20 seconds and then the whole page goes to where it should be. I'll try re installing Chrome first.
