It's still only a 8 core CPU if they had priced it higher I'd of gone for the 9700x for sure. But anyways glad I got one.
I'm definitely taking a day off for the 5090 release. This was a cake walk compared to what that will be.
Does a motherboard really have that much effect on CPU overclocking? I thought it was all silicon lottery and cooling material? (Liquid nitrogen lol).

Yep thats the way I'm thinking is well, I've got 3 months of no dedicated GPU, minimum, while I'm waiting for the 5090. After which I can either keep it or sell it for a decent amount. I'm like you not sure how much I'll use it when the big boy gets here, but this way can't lose.
I've been desensitised to things like this after the last two graphic card launches. An extra £50 seems like nothing compared to the Rog Strix 4090 +£600 tax lol.
It's not a big deal and im sure its genuine, but customs is hardly a end user problem. If a launch is the 7th then you expect stock available for then.
Plus since the stock went in the first 10 minutes, given demand I'm pretty sure you could class it as that to some extent.
Yeah I seem to remember slower sales where they have retroactively given day 1 purchasers a code if a promo has gone live shortly after launch, but doubt it's going to happen here.
I don't mind, we all no doubt have big back logs!

I know I should never pay this much for a motherboard... but I really want the x870 MSI Godlike. 7 nvme slots, screen on board, fan/argb connectors on the back. It just looks so sexy as well. Someone tell me to stand down lol.
