We have an email from AMD at 12:47 about the last minute change.
I read it at 12:53 and copy and pasted it across forums and discord to try and warn as many customers as possible.
We launched at 12:59

We had hundreds and all sold by 14:15, AMD's timing miss-hap in a way gave a lot of people a better opportunity as traffic to the website at 13:00 though busy was OK, at 14:00 traffic ramped considerably and 15 minutes later they were gone.

You can pre-order and we have more due in tomorrow/Friday. :)

I did have mine in my basket at 1 minute 1pm and then went into a blind panic trying to get it ordered before they all went :cry:

Our aim is to ship all the orders today!

We literally pre-packed all the processors yesterday to go out with DPD.
So all we have to do today is slap address labels on.

We are efficient, that AMD Sapphire 9070 XT BORG CUBE I built out of the worlds largest stock pile of Pulse 9070 XT seems to have assimilated and adapted our servers and hence today has been spot on, we dropped close to 500 more 9070 XT's the website stayed alive and we have the new 3D CPU launch and the website was perfection. :)

Happy days, if you don't get a DPD notification by end of day drop CS a message tomorrow, also make sure you have the DPD APP. :)
 
Wow, got lucky with refreshing I saw it at 13:15 so must've been early on. Was also expecting it at 2pm but happy to have one ordered, was the final piece for my build and am currently using the PC I built in 2013, so to say it's had a good run is an understatement.
Just in case it helps anybody I see they are still in stock *elsewhere* (sorry I broke rule didn't realise)
Fingers crossed it arrives before this weekend and can get it all built and setup :) And double fingers crossed everything I bought it compatible and no problems as I've seen bios issues and stuff with 9800's and asrock which I have an asrock board.

Website worked very well, thank you! Again I got lucky with the GPU launch I added to cart super early and the cart page was still responsive so worked, but after I ordered went back and saw the gateway down etc messages so that should've made it less frustrating for people

There was no luck required really, you could have refreshed nearly an hour later and still picked one up.

Also, there are rules against mentioning competitors by name.

Interesting, I would've thought the demand much higher, only been sort of in touch with tech news but thought the 9800x3d was out of stock for the majority of launch (at least in the US) so to have an hour or more to buy first batch, surprising :) Good though hopefully the people who needed them got them and deters scalpers. Bot measures also must be working.*fixed previous post didn't realise*

The combo of fixing their backend and USA daylight savings "mishap" was the real key to letting us longtime forum members get a good head start. Some scalpers getting the shaft for once is an absolute win!

Even if they’d launched at 2pm on their old backend, the availability would have been there. Scalpers aren’t touching these as the demand isn’t there and pretty much anyone who wanted one at launch had about an hour to get one from here or other places.

There were less than 100 left at 2pm and it still took 15 minutes for them to sell.

I read about that it was the only way to stop them potentially burning themselves out. But I never experienced any issues when I owned all of them except them having massive power draw and the heat output of a small nuclear plant.

They have long since gone. The last build was a 14900k setup which was replaced with various AMD droids. I should change it the sig but never got round to it
