This seems to be becoming a habit, but since nobody else mentioned it...
Asus RoG Strix TRX40 E-Gaming, new UEFI:
Thanks! Could have sworn that wasn't there when I checked this morning!

Interesting, I run the Zenth II Extreme and it gets a lower AGESA version.

My Strix is on an early version of the BIOS, but I'm not having any issues with it so I'm hesitant to update it.
Oh, I wasn't aware. I was just running with the usual BIOS update mindset of it's it not broke then don't fix it. I'll update later on.That's fair enough, but you are missing out on a lot of AGESA updates. I've updated every time a new version came out and it's been painless.
Also I've just looked and I'm on 0702, so quite an old version!
We Strix users got that last month. Perhaps they use the lower tiers to stability test before they roll out to the higher paying tiers the next month? *shrug*
Considering a workstation upgrade, is now a good time to buy a threadripper? I realise there's zen 2 refresh of ryzen parts, and zen 3 coming maybe early next year, haven't heard anything about threadrippers specifically though.
Also wondering why everything is out of stock at OC? Except the 3990, which is amazing value right now, but still a little over what i wanted to spend on a new cpu.
Updated to the latest and *seems* okay so far. It's managed to boot with my RAM at 3200 now and I'm sure it would only do 3000 before (I have 8 DIMMs).
For TR I don't see why not. Somebody here can correct me but I don't think we expect to see zen 3 based Threadrippers until next year, but when? After server and mainstream parts drop for sure. I think most of the refinements in the zen 3 architecture are focused on latency improvements and clock speed nudges. You can judge if that's important to you.
What are you running now out of interest? What shiny new TR are you considering? PS I think OC have stock on all the Threadrippers now :O
