AMD To Launch RV770 On June 18th

well the specific gigabyte one isnt in stock yet. and i have £200 in paypal, so £130 for the 4850 and £70 for a PSU (HX620 which is around £80 if i can get the 4850 about £120)

or i could leave the PSU and leave it to my tagan 430W U15, but a PSU upgrade will be essential for an xfire set up.

Can see why Nvidia tries to pass off DX 10.1 as 'marketing' and why they got the 10.1 code removed from Assassins Creed.

Nvidia will hit back at these 4850 something tells me glad I haven't rushed in and sold my gt to get a 4850.
Looking at those benches the card doesn't seem that much better than a 3870.
Also I was thinking that I game with vsync on so what's the point if my gt gets me 60 fps in my games of choice ?

Go and read some more reviews then. I'm sorry but the 4850 beating the G80GTX at 2560x1600 with 4xAA for £140 is exceptional. It beats most other cards at lower resolutions also. Your comment seems as if your trying to justify something.

I run at 2048x1536 when I can and the G80GTX is better than the G92 GT and I can see how great this £140 card is. If you don't find that exceptional after R600 and RV670 then nothing will excite you :p.

Oh and Nvidia hit back???. What are you talking about?. The GTX 280 has already been released. Yes it's king of the hill for a single card but you can get 2x 4850's for £130+ cheaper than the GTX 280 and most times outperform it. This is the 4850 remember. 4870 is still to come.

Indeed but what if the 9800gtx becomes £100 or less ? I am talking about hitting back via price to performance not the actual cards here.

then it still is longer, costs more electricity wise, need 2 6pin, nvidia drivers (which IMO i cant stand with my 7800GT) ETC ETC

thats why my next car is the his ICEQ version of this 4850

oh and the 4850 is averaging around £130. some have it for under £120)

Then with the 4850 beating the 9800GTX in quite a lot of games then it will be priced correctly. A little bit faster for a little bit dearer like it's always been. Lol the GTX 280 is a prime example of faster = £.

I agree with everything said but one cant see nvidia taking this for long somehow can you ? they will do something to match or beat these cards guaranteed.

C64 i really don't know what more this card has to do to win some people over and i don't think it can win some over they are so completely adamant that nvidia is best nothing will change that. You have a load of benchmarks to read all but the odd one point to one thing 2 4850's is the dogs nuts what more do you want for the price. Maybe nvidia will drop the price of the 9800gtx and so what if they do xfired 4850's are not beating it by a little bit so let nvidia overclock them all they want.

Hey i like this card and want one too I'm no fanboy but you just know something is round the corner to take the shine off.
I look forward to all the sub £100 second hand 9800gtx in the mm that's for sure.

They might just about manage it with the 9800 GTX+ against the 4850, but what are they going to do about the supposedly 30% faster 4870? GT200 is too expensive, G92 wouldn't be fast enough.

ID like to see an overclocked 4850(which doesnt seem to have much of a range in those terms) vs an overclocked 9800GTX/8800GTS (which both seem to overclock to quite high levels. There also seems to be something in this "performance" driver for the G92 cards that we cant forget though that may just be Physix capablities
