AMD To Launch RV770 On June 18th

Lol no. That's what it looks like straight off the wafer.

Get 100's of chips off one wafer.

So NDA and release date could be within the same day / few days of each other? I think they were the same day on a previous release?

NDA ends on 25th.

4850 is going to be hard launched on 25th. Which means reviews will come out then and it will start being sold then. Just like the GTX 280 / 260 release the other day.

4870 is going to have a paper launch on the 25th though. Meaning it canny be bought but offical specs, pictures will come then. Not sure about reviews though but from what I know they should come then aswell. Looks like the 4870 will be able to buy on 8th July.

4870X2 is in 8 weeks time after 25th, which is some time in August.

Fudzilla reckons the 4870 still coming on 25th. But in short supply limited amount available (Think Intel E8400 on release)

Limited number next week

RV770XT-based GDDR5 cards are barely going to make it for the 25th launch. We've learned from various sources that these cards will reach retailers literally just days, if not hours, before the launch.

Radeon HD 4870 cards are being produced as we speak, and we were told that there shouldn't be many shortages after the launch date.

You can be sure that you will get quite a lot of Radeon HD 4850 as of next Tuesday, but it might be tough to buy HD 4870 for the time being. We were also told that this situation will get better, as the cards are coming as of next week.

Obviously just finishing off producing them and may not have a large amount out. If you buy a 4870 next week it could have been produced only a few days before :D

Guess a price time for low quantity 4870 on launch day at OcUK. :D

£230 exc VAT i say. :D

While I would far rather buy from OCUK than anyone else (because of their awesome service) I will just buy from the cheapest place I am afraid, so I hope Gibbo and the rest of the guys and girls there strive to get an excellent price :)

Does the HD 4850 come sooner than expected?

We got the chance to get some information about the newest plannings from AMD regarding the upcoming Radeon HD 4850 graphic card, which has been a well discussed subject over the
last few days after some german hardware enthusiasts have published pre-release benchmarks of this high performance card. A bird told us that launching this masterpiece by tomorrow is possible, but is still being discussed. The reason for this action would be to give the just released new GeForce graphic card by the competitor an even harder time than it already has, after disappointing reviews went online on monday, yesterday.
