AMD To Launch RV770 On June 18th

translatedversionofhttpox1.png
I thought the 1GB version was going to be released at a latter date (mid July) than the standard 512MB versions

Ok, maybe its just me then. Only ever had 1 powercolor and it was DOA

Just the way things are sometimes. As far as I know, powecolour just put their own sticker on the card and box it up in their own box. I have had a powercolour 3870X2 myself, and while it died, I'd happily buy another powercolour card.

You were happy that it died?

Ding ding ding we have a WINRAR. :)

Dont know why they delayed the 4850 aswell though. :(

Do I get a prize? :D

Maybe they were refining the drivers a bit more maybe? By the way these are looking, I think ATi know they've not got anything to worry about in terms of NV anyway.

So whens the 4870 meant to be coming out now? :/

I've already ordered a GTX280 for under £400, but i'm still interested. I really dont expect it to be as fast as 280 and would bet money on this... but if it's decent, then atleast the X2 version would be great and a decent upgrade from 280.

4870 is coming out the same day. But its meant to be a paper launch only.

Reports indicate although its apparently in very very short supply some shops may have some in stock and will sell on the 25th.

Otherwise its meant to be launched properly on the 8th July when there is enough stock around. :)

From a member of sales at OcUKs biggest competitor.

Well... as normal we actually adhere to any NDA's which are in place and as such until any embargo's are lifted we cannot reveal any information or pricing.

Our lips are sealed and that's all I can say

I must say that the UK channel seems to get the **** deal when it comes down to releases. Companies must put some pretty threating stuff in these NDAs for them not even to say if they will have 4870s in good supply or not on the 25th.

Some of you may think its not a big deal to get annoyed over but in my eyes its an absolute load of **** especially when there are so many people doing independant reviews and previews across the globe and shops in the EU and even the US have the cards up for sale and instock now, and even shops on HK selling them at will and the UK has sweet **** all to show anything.
