AMD To Launch RV770 On June 18th

Those benchies look well wrong.

There's no way a GT would be faster than a GTX in anything...

think at lower res it is.dont hold me too that though

There's absolutely no reason why it should.

GTX has more and faster everything...

16 more shaders, 75Mhz higher core, 188Mhz more shader, 400Mhz more mem speed...

How can a card based on the same arcitecture but slower possibly beat the higher clocked faster card in anything?

That is a factory overclocked BFG card in the review:

BFG GeForce 8800 GT OCX

Core Clock 700MHz (vs. 600MHz standard)
Shader Clock 1728MHz (vs. 1500MHz standard)
Memory Data Rate 2000MHz (vs. 1800MHz standard)

Ahhhh! Didn't notice the OCX suffix, well that's a little shady of them, it should be compared to a stock GT.

Well, not to excite anyone too much but i've just seen a UK retailer with Sapphire 4850's in stock ... so maybe the whispers of an early NDA release are true? /prays

It was... but now it isn't.

I'd like to see inside AMDs mind, since not releasing benchmarks for what seems a very good product whilst their rival is selling their product by the bucketload, seems a little mad to me.

Perhaps they are awaiting improved drivers?
