So when do we get some solid news? (trying to sort the wheat from the fanboy chaff in here is hard going) Pretty tired of Nvidia sitting on their posterior due to little competition. I hope Vega gives them a right good kicking in the dangles.
 
From this slide, it looks as though vega may perform 4 operations per clocks instead of 2 as with older gcn.

This means that small vega could be 2048 cores @1.5ghz to get 12.5Tflops.

We know from AMD's past efforts that total computational power isn't everything, it's how you bring those Tflops to bear when rendering games which is the area AMD's have struggled with over the last 5 years.

We know from AMD's past efforts that total computational power isn't everything, it's how you bring those Tflops to bear when rendering games which is the area AMD's have struggled with over the last 5 years.

Which is whay they have done when implementing the following;

Main one is Variable wavefront processing, meaning that CU's can have their ALU's filled by more than one wavefront within 2 cycles. meaning CU utilisation goes up and so does performance as unused ALU's are being used now.

Tile based rasterisation reduces bandwith needed during rasterisation and improves performance.

Primitive discard accelerator decreased the amount of work that the geometry engines and rasterisers need to do.
