I'd take that rumor with a pinch of salt, unless "upto 4x" is in one very specific application.

That's why I was asking for a source, I can't see that being possible yet, as you said maybe in one specific scenario, It'd be nice if it was but 4x is a lot. Maybe 3, that'd still be great.

Is this the first card in a long time where no performance leaks have been released. If so AMD have done well to hide it. It seems that way, which I am enjoying. I hope it is a big shock.

Looks like Jensen got himself a new jacket :D

Anyway, it could be that Nvidia got wind of Vega and delayed the 1080Ti because the 1080ti can't compete with Vega..

I'm not saying that's why it is, just that it's always a possibility that AMD got it bang on this time and Nvidia, rather than releasing a card that will still lose against Vega, chose to give up this one.

Hope this is on par with 1070/1080. Had to purchase a new GPU as my 290x died and I have a free sync monitor. The 1070 runs everything well, but I would like to use the free sync on my screen

Anything that surpasses a GTX 1080 and comes in at the right price will really see AMD do well. Fingers crossed they have that card.

Slides look promising but jumped on a 1070 from a 290 for £300 the other day so selfishly hoping they don't better that price/performance ratio (I hate buyers remorse) but would be good for all if they do.

Top end cards are more than I'm willing to pay for a GPU.

Looks like lots of new tech for AMD in VEGA which is great.

No hype train! Remember the so called "leaks" from WCCFTech, of the 480 reaching Fury+ levels, and OC'ing to 1500Mhz on early samples.

Believe no rumors, or leaks, wait for actual verified content.

Am not talking about performance ;) am talking about features I like the idea of on board cache

From this slide, it looks as though vega may perform 4 operations per clocks instead of 2 as with older gcn.

This means that small vega could be 2048 cores @1.5ghz to get 12.5Tflops.

This is probably why they are claiming 4x performance per watt. Amazing if they can deliver. Imagine a small Vega matching a 1080 or higher.

Looks like Vega is going to be a monster of a GPU. Really hope game performance is up to par as well! Might actually end up being faster than pascal. :O
