I never expected a livestream seeings as how it's 6am in Vegas. I did however expect a big video with a lot of juicy specs and maybe even "vs nvidia" numbers.

That was obviously a disappointment not getting that.

its your own failure to understand disappointment from your own judgement of expectations isnt reality.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not really fussed.

It was counter-productive marketing though, IMO.

My thoughts exactly.

End of the day all I care is about the end product and its price. That is what matters most. Get that right and they will have my money :D

Would be great as I can then get a freesync 2 monitor and save a bunch of money when buying my next monitor :)

I'm not bothered that it wasn't a livestream or keynote but i do want a launch Date My guess is it will be after Zen around the time of computex or E3 now :(

just so you get it, 1080=300mm2 or so, Vega 500mm2 or so, its a crush´when Vega is released, your 1080 is now old, the 1080ti is old.
your shiny old 1080ti gpu is now dead in water before release.

And THIS is exactly why we need some solid facts from AMD.
The hype train runs away without proper facts and input and then everyone is dissapointed because they thought it was going to be 100x more powerful than TXP.

Apart from what are we looking at mid 2017 now? Probably why nvidia have not released the Ti because they know there is no competition until Volta.

So if the VEGA chip performs as good as a TXP (less as shown). It's not going to be good enough mid 17 when Volta is released with HBM2 as well.

Will be another 2015/16 all over again. With another round of catch-up.

PRetty sure nvidias HMB chip is larger than 300mm2 too. kinda like comparing a kettle to a saucepan. different technologies. means nothing about the actual GPU power.

But then Flopper is one of the few remaining Defenders of the realm of red.

I was expecting it to beat Titan XP and be looking to compete with Volta back in August once we found out Vega's release date, so nothing has changed for me. I will have been disappointed if it did not do that anyway.

But at least I explained how I came to that conclusion. Flopper just comes out with funny random things :p

Nearly as funny to me as those who think big Vega will just be competing with a 1070 and not be able to provide 1080 performance :D

You give his posts too much credit. I like AMD but he's clearly barking!

Just a tad guessing or using random info that hasn't been proven i.e fanboy talk :D Amd had a chance to bring something new out for the start of the year but looks like they can't manage it yet.

Personally not bothered gave up on AMD a long long time ago when got burned on a ATI Rage Fury MAXX lol.
