Big Vega will have 6144 shaders yes? I'm expecting it to be a bit of a beast tbh and eclipse the TXP (at least in DX12 titles)

If it has 16GB of HBM2 I can see it being approx £1k. I'd be happy-ish with that, esp considering it'd last me a goooooooooooood long while (3840x1600 res) :)

Another £1000 card please don't AMD. I find it difficult to justify £500 as it is.

Ain't that the truth, Technically I can't afford such a luxury item, However I've been saving up for my next computer upgrade for so long that I can do it if I really want too, That's the one advantage that's come from AMD's inability to keep pushing new high end cards out the door :D

I agree, just move on, both of you have had your say.

We should open a special thread so that whenever a disagreement goes on too long and threatens to derail a thread the people involved can have their posts ejected over there, We can call it The Squabble Thread :D

same here been saving up and would really like to do a new build with ryzen and vega but if vega prices are pretty high I may have to keep the 3770k and put up with it for a while as gpu grunt is my top priority

Yup, and at our res the cpu matters least :)

Hell, I'd be tempted to keep that 3770k anyhow!! Still not a bad gaming cpu...

yep I think your right, I'm just tempted by ryzen because its shiny and new when I know games will look and feel the same anyway.

I'm going to wait for vega and see whats left in the slush fund:D

I think we're all waiting on the Ryzen gaming benchmarks ;) :D

I'm realllllly trying to resist another Fury tbh, Vega isn't going to be cheap...

Ryzen sounds very tempting but even Sandy i7's still do a great job with games let alone anything newer, I noticed Intel are a bit on edge over Ryzen too which can only be a good thing, except on my wallet :D.

I'm gonna try to fight the urge so I'm ready on day one for Vega.

It would be amazing to me if Big Vega was only a bit faster than a 1080 like a lot of people said. That would mean small Vega would be (yet another) 290X/390X/480 card.

Same. I am fully expecting the fastest vega card to be a GP102 competitor.

If it is only a 1080 competitor it will need to be very cheap (under £400) to be taken seriously, considering when it is rumoured to be released.

Unfortunately though small Vega is the 1080 opponent, and big Vega hits TXP.

Funny enough to remember some history and why we should be optimistic about Vega.

Up to 2009 Raja Kuduri was the head of ATI, before he went to Apple. And before he left, was responsible for the Cypress core. For those don't remember was powering the mighty 5870.

Came back late 2015 to AMD, which was half way developing the Polaris core, aka RX480.
And he is involved fully on the complete circle of Vega development.......

Ok screw it, I'm just gonna lower settings slightly and wait for Vega (and hopefull Big Vega!). I'm bloody excited for this new architecture now!!

Pondering a Ryzen+Vega mITX shoebox build for later in the year :D

Probably in anticipation of coming releases - will likely change quite a bit depending on how those releases pan out and/or how AMD handles the period upto release.

Nvidia's is on the down as well. Nothing major as there price is so high. I think Nvidia just plateaued as there price just kept going up for the last few years.
