I just think we are all being negative because deep down we know it will come in better than the 1080ti and $10 less

come on lets start a hype train :D

so. little. news.
Supposedly a month away and not a peep from AMD.

There wasn't a peep for either Titan Pascal either, and for the 1080ti a little could town timer a week before its launch was all anyone had.

No leaks, nothing.

Looks AMD is waiting until a Computex before they'll say anything.

computex is may 30th?
waiting is harder the closer it is
You should consider to do what others have done, be patient and wait 95% of the journey, then break and buy a 1080Ti and **** off AMD :p:D

I will leave this here just in case:

Yeah, and with lots of GTX 1070's available at £300 now, you can get the same Vega performance for not a massive cost. :p

Don't worry, I hear Gibbo is planning a special bundle for Vega and Half Life 3. It'll surely be worth the weight.

Yea. Basically the new forum software (XenForo) seems to have it heavily integrated, but people voted in GD and the consensus was no like buttons.

Issue with the NZXt chassis is that it was a real hot box, and despite all the sound proof padding was really loud; then again that was mostly the Corsair AIO fans. :p

My old Corsair H100 was the biggest noise maker in my rig, I replaced it with a BeQuiet air cooler and it's all but silent now, It's one of the reasons I'm questioning the plan to get another AIO, I'll wait and see how Vega's AIO sounds.

The FuryX AIO is not loud even if I have it a minimum 50% fan speed with a very aggressive curve and it never exceeds 60% speed with 1180/600 overclock.

Haha :)

Even at 1080 performance I would be disappointed, let alone 1070 which to me is unthinkable for big Vega.

But end of the day even if it comes out to be only 1080 performance and is priced well, at least it will give people some choice and allow them to go the freesync route.

<----- and that's me trying to put a positive spin on it ;)

The Fury X's weren't well priced seeing as they came in at 500+ while giving less performance than a 980ti which was in the same price range,
I'm expecting more of the same due to the HBM2 and we'll be getting the AIO and flashy box to try and disguise the fact that it is not priced
well for the performance it offers.
I think that's pretty much a certainty now.

That's good to know, hopefully it'll be the same with Vega.

For me that could only happen after Vega release.

Yea, Fury was a good product at a bad pricepoint. And the unfortunate loud pumps on first FuryX revisions didn't help.
Hope AMD learned from that and will launch with more realistic pricing

I do not know for sure, but my guess would be HBM2 will cost less than HBM did two years ago, plus they seem to be using a much smaller bus on Vega so that will help with cost too.

End of the day they need to provide better price for performance if they want to to steal a meaningful amount of market share, that must is for certain :)

Imagine if they added a couple of those to the Birmingham to London Intercity route :D

lol.

the first batch was.

Yup, the pump whine was nightmarish; even on videos. Amazed Coolermaster could make such dodgy things.

My Fury X was a much later one from XFX, thing was silent.
Noise in my system went: Chassis fans > Fury X under load > Noctua D15S.

The old Corsair H110i was louder than the rest combined when I had that; never mind running hotter than the Noctua.

If Vega X is water cooled again, I hope AMD avoid Coolermaster, and at least go back to Asetek. Their design for 295X2 was superior to what wa used on the Fury X; and the two pumps/blocks were quieter as well.

Just change the fans... don't think I've used the stock fans on any AIO I've ever owned!

I think I got lucky with mine and had no coil whine/pump whine and I got one of the first batch. It actually changed my mind up on my dislike of AIO coolers and would certainly buy another.

Because if Nvidia talked about either of those produts before release they would have stagnated sales of the existing Titan. Plus everyone knew the 1080ti would be coming and what it would entail. NVidia weren't loosing sales to AMD at that point. AMD really have nothing to loose by giving some performance data out, as long as long as performance is actually decent.

Yep i agree, I was never a fan of AIO on graphics cards until the fury x... I had 2 purchased on release and had no pump or coil whine. I then purchased another two half a year later for a spare gaming rig and once again no issues with those.. I am guessing i also got lucky but damn the look of the cards is damn sexy :)
