We should be optimistic about Vega. they seem to have a solid strategy with Ryzen, if they can carry this thought process over to the GPU side then AMD might have a half decent product.

When ATI/AMD were doing well with GPU's we thought the same thing :p.
I'd be optimistic about Vega if it was already out and performing, but instead we had the 480/580 which is just rehashed 390x performance.

It only looks late to the impatient. ;) As far as they are concerned it is progressing according to schedule.

Jumps up and down impatiently! :p

Another thing to note tho.... is a few years back AMD changed at board level. Raja, Lisa etc etc.... plans take years to come to fruition, Ryzen was the first piece, Vega part two etc etc....

They've turned a corner and are trying to change the image of the company.

Budget brand, is not a sexy sales point.

just a shareholders meeting...It'll be very very dry...
Sahara is an oasis compared to how little official information we were getting about Vega.
We have resorted to thinking up product names and prices and performances just to have something to talk about

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.

NVidia doomed?
There was s nothing AMD could possibly do that would cause Nvidia to collapse at this time. Even if they couldn't sell a card for a couple years they would survive.

On the other hand. Nvidia had the chance to twist the knife recently and potentially kill off at least AMDs GPU arm. But they got greedy and chose to twist the knife in their customers instead.

I miss that crazy ******* :D

Haha :)

NVidia doomed?

Yes, they over spent of R&D apparently... :p

Must be clear, this isn't an 'event' as such it's just a shareholders meeting where we should get some info that things are on track as they should be. It'll be very very dry...

No doubt there will be people in here tonight saying AMD failed again, they did not give any info and the presentation sucked. They will say it was dry, as if it was a shareholder meeting or something...

To be honest, unless you have shares in AMD then you don't really have a right to listen or comment on the going on at a shareholders meeting.
Obviously the contents are public as AMD is a PLC but that's for all shareholders benefit. Not some jumped up kid on a forum to moan about.
