The Desktop APU is going to provide a really reasonable entry to the same platform as full fledged Ryzen and VEGA - It gives AMD the opportunity to make 3 or 4 sales off the same consumer on one motherboard lifecycle.

I can certainly see me buying a PC with APU to start with for the kids, they can start off with last gen games at high detail and all gaming at 1080p, then add VEGA for max detail, then add a 4k screen, then add Ryzen+ It changes the economics of getting into PC gaming completely.

It makes the whole PC build truly modular with very little loss on components on the way through.

It was almost impossible to get an AMD APU laptop last time round - I don't see that happening this time, the improvements they are showing make genuine cheap laptop gaming a real thing. Again at purchase for back to school and definitely for Christmas a gaming laptop is going to be in the magic price point for a gift. That is too big a cherry for the big OEM's not to go for.

And Threadripper is Epyc. It is almost like they know they are owning it at this point.

A Fury X at 1450Mhz matches a 2Ghz GTX 1080 in FireStrike. So this Enterprise card will be faster; and like most enterprise cards expect it to be clocked lower than gaming version.

Aye, although Lisa Su stated in Investor Call Q&A that Vega products will be shipping before Q2 ends. I hope that means gaming as well.

This is extremely exciting stuff though. AMD just smashed the Tesla P100 while being a smaller design.
I hope they manage to get supply sorted, and it's not limited supply. As the longer they delay the closer Tesla V100 approaches with it's ungodly Deep Learning performance.
