They realesed BD and will have to eat humble pie by dropping the price of the 7900 series.
I mean...some person at the top out of touch with reality?
Surely a Global company like AMD is not this silly?

While I don't understand the need for another thread, from the mentioning of BD, and AMD being out of touch of reality, they seem to have gone this way from the removal of Dirk, seems like it's all been down hill since then.

So this post is a little bit constructive i think yeah bulldozer isnt what people expected it to be.
New cards i think they have done a good job
Better than 580 performance on un matured drivers for less money equals progression to me, yes they might not e 200 quid or whatever it is you expected but new tech dows cost more money, always will, as will the anout people earn increases.

Ah yeah, BD was an out and out mistake. The 7900 series move was different from what AMD have done before in terms of relatively aggressive pricing, but the opportunity was there for them. They'll be back to where they've always been once Kepler's out.

Your last line answers your question. Amd know more about what they are doing and why they are doing it. They will most likely know more than anyone outside of nvidia what they are up against in the kepler line. I trust amd knows whats best for there company.

Well it only seems a few years ago and i think it was that amd were not even making a profit. I believe they are now so yea i think they know what they are doing. Nvidia seem to make decisions that on paper look stupid but they work out. You need to calm down and see what comes from nvidia before slating what amd are doing atm. They may well have good reason to be pricing high.

Well, yeh, Faildozer was crap, no doubt, but their new gfx cards are the mutts nuts right now and they are not overcharging for them. People think they are because they undercharged for the 69xx series so much, but if this were an Nvidia release, no one would have questioned the price.
