Hi there

As you all know X2 4400 and X2 4800 1MB Cache CPU's are end of life and very hard to find.

Well not only have I managed to source a few hundred but have also had special price direct from AMD.

This means for the people out there who want the extra performance from the 1MB Cache makes and the great overclockability of these chips you can now get them from OcUK at great prices.

As you know these CPU's will quite easily hit FX62 speeds and beyond, but check out these prices:-

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400 @ £139.95 +VAT
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800 @ £174.95 +VAT

These are gonna fly as you've got a stunning performance CPU for hardly no money. Remember these are now end of life and as such are very hard to get hold off and most places with stock are approx £200 more expensive than OcUK. :)

what do you think these will clock to?

i jus got a 3800+ 2 days ago but am not happy with the overclocking - i'm seriously considering getting a 4800+ and selling on the 3800+ at loss and chalking it down to experience.

edit: actually, Gibbo, what the chances of me sending the 3800+ back to you and getting a 4800+ instead (paying the difference)?? :p (i will anticipate the resounding NO)

Just ordered my X2 4800 and a Zalman CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower (it sounded good on tomshardware hahaha)

I'm so excited now I've been killing myself for days thinking about getting one of the X2 4600's but as soon as I saw the X2 4800's with 1mb cache I had to go for it!!! :D

Just ordered a 4400+, was gonna go for the 4800+ but figured i could save £30 and get that extra 200Mhz and more overclocking it, hopefully anyway

I have jsut ordered the 4800+. At that price it is too good a deal too miss.

I have been a loud advocate of single core cpu's, as a gamer, and to a certain extent still am. However, dual/multi core is clearly going to be the future, the price of the chip is great and I can still get some fairly decent money for my single-core cpu if I sell now. Not a difficult decision really.

Great price OcUK :)

does royal mail special delivery come on a saturday?

I seem to remember it does but not 100% sure

when i rang up to order mine today they said yes - there is a high chance that royal mail will deliver it on saturday, although its not guarenteed (the guarenteed sat del. was 18 pounds vs. 8 pounds - i took a risk and went for the cheapskate route)

That's the way the cookie crumbles. I just bought a opty 170 (that'll run at 2.7+) for £190 from someone on these forums and I was quite pleased with it given that the X2 3800s seemed to be under performing. Now I'll be waiting in antipicaption to see if my hasty purchase was worth it in light of these GREAT prices.

NB: My 170 won't be arriving till late next week, so it's not as though i've even got the benefit of a few extra days. Ho-hum, I bet i'll still get 2.8ghz with enough vcore.
