AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

That's what I wanted to type, same here exactly that with posting

The joys of being a guinea pig.

I don't mind too much, everything is fine if you don't mess with it and they are ending a decade of stagnation, to do that you have to step outside the safe norms. i think AMD are managing the pitfalls inevitable from that quite well.

This is a luxury that few other companies are afforded. I wouldn't say that everything is fine as they aren't even boosting to the advertised clock speeds, it's unacceptable IMO. I don't care if they're recovering or whatever, when you pay your money you expect to get the product as described.

On your main point i agree, mine says 4.2Ghz, i have never seen it boost the 4.2Ghz in any app or game, it gets close in lightly threaded games, but not 4.2Ghz and that is what i paid for and its what i expect. A way around that is to simply say 3.6Ghz and nothing else, if the 4.2Ghz is not guaranteed. Like Intel do.
I think the problem is the silicon just can't get to those advertised speeds, or rarely can, i think AMD expected more from the silicon. smaller proccessing nodes doesn't always equal higher clocks, ask Intel about that, they can't even get 10nm to 4Ghz all core.

Intel's 14nm++++++++++++++++++ is very mature, that's why the 5Ghz clock speeds.

EDIT looks like some tools had a play with them bioses.. I score MORE than on 2501 booted up no problem

Guys I need help. I'm too indecisive.

I've currently got a Gigabyte Elite X570 on back order due for delivery at the end o f the month but having second thoughts.
These are my options for the price I'm willing to spend for now.

3700X + Asus TUF gaming (Non WiFi) for £499
3700X + Asus Rog Strix-F for £529
3700X + Gigabyte Aorus Elite for £509
3700X + Gigabyte Aorus Pro for £529

Any input?
On my current 2500K build I had endless problems with a Gigabyte board so got it RMA'd. Whilst it was getting sorted, I bought an Asus board and it has been flawless ever since apart from the WiFi and LAN keeps cutting out after updating to Win10.

I have asus rog crossair viii hero whilst I know it’s not on your list but it’s very similar to the strix boards just with more armour and USB ports and I love it been rock solid with my 3900x and I love the asus bios and software. I went with the non Wi-Fi version though as the Wi-Fi version was impossible to get but I highly recommend the asus boards

I would go with the Asus Rog Strix-F, no other reason than my X470 Asus Prime Pro has been really stable with the 3700X since last update and am very happy.

Thanks, Why would you recommend the Strix-f?

I don't really need WiFi anymore. I've hardwired my house to a central area now so hopefully a lot better. I would love a C8H but I can't afford it right now. Although I may make a drunk purchase one night if it was proven to be a good bit ahead of the game!
