AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

ABSOLUTE NONSENSE!

He's right, this is true, but its down to the clock speed difference being about 20%, with the IPC and clock speed increase on Ryzen 3000 that deficit will be nullified, Ryzen 3000 will match Intel's best in gaming.

4.3 all core clock and decent memory timings gets over 2000 on a 2700X but not that many will do 4.3 all core easily.

Forget about that, forget about Cinebench, if you look at the reviews where they have OSD running in games the 2700X is running its all core boost at between 4Ghz and 4.05Ghz, the 9900K is running at 4.7Ghz, that's a difference in clock speed of about 17%, with about 15 to 20% performance deficit to the 9900K, with a 5% IPC boost and 10% higher all core boost clocks the 9900K has marginal to nothing performance on the 8 core Ryzen 3000 in games, nothing.

budget chips for gaming rigs. with budget cards at 1080 res is realistically what many on here will be using

Then why are you showing us benchmarks using a 2080Ti?

If you could show us benchmarks using a GTX 1060 or RX 580 with the R5 1600/2600, I5 8600K, I5 8400 at 1080p with this 15-20% lead for intel CPU's then please do. At least this way it will represent your "budget gaming rigs" in a more realistic light...

hwbot.... a professional bencher using OS optimisations with the absolute best case scenario scores....

Reality at 4.4Ghz is sub 2000.

I have no doubt its fine for gaming and day to day tasks but after 10 seconds of using AVX and its in the mid 70's @easyrider
-------------------

This is what i managed to find.

Ryzen 2700X @ 4.4Ghz: 1964
Ryzen 3600X? = 2057 (+5%)

The 2700X would have to be running at 4.62Ghz to match that score.

IMO its probably running at about 4.3Ghz all cores and has 7% higher IPC, final silicon might be 4.5Ghz which would give it a score of 2119.

Hang on since we are throwing around nonsense CB scores now does my ThreadRipper's count? I mean you can get a 1950X for the same price as a 9900K now, power draw is similar and therefore it's an apples to apples comparison isn't it???

It isn't nonsense. They are trying to compare the highest end 8c/16t current Ryzen to the result, and seeing roughly where it sits.

Heck.. if this think is running normal boost profiles rather than being forced to a solid freq rating, then it is even more impressive. Very curious about the speed tbh.

isnt it weird how they left out the frequency out ? :p man we got six months of this ! :(

hopefully we get some of this nonsense out the way.

The frequencies don't matter, why are the frequencies so important now? the FX-9590 ran at 5Ghz out of the box, i had one, it was a steaming pile of junk, its IPC was pathetic which rendered its 5Ghz clock speed irrelevant....

Ok i know the 9900K at 4.7 to 5Ghz isn't, its a fabulous chip, very high performance, but if a 4.5Ghz Ryzen 3000 can match it, which it looks like it will, what does it matter if its clocked 500Mhz lower?

Not really. We don't get frequencies or SKU names this early. Production will be well under way and when the majority of binning is finished they'll know what the clocks to set for each quality of bin
