AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Aye 16 cores pushing close to 5gees is going to put out some heat, but thats the cool thing about these new chiplets - its distributed better.

Not sure if they'll hit 5ghz. But based on leaks to date about all core overclock power draw - if anyone does achieve 5ghz, they'll be looking at 350w power draw.

I'd be happy with all core 4.7ghz to keep the power draw under 300w

Dont put too much stock on the advertised 105w draw - it's only that low because half the core or more will be running under 4ghz out of the box

Actually. I revise my speculation in light of the info provided by that slide.
16c 32t 3950x would probably be ~$41.50/core. Making it a $679 part.

My guess is that the 105w tdp is pretty low...so it's the equivalent of a 16c 3700x in $/core pricing.

I guess AMD would probably release an anniversary edition 3990x 16c balls to the wall 125-135w part for at least $40/core. This would be the 16c equivalent to the 3800x. So at least $800...

Intel challenges AMD and Ryzen 3000 to “come beat us in real world gaming

Does AMD have the kahonas...

Time to break out the 480 and 720p benchmarks again boys! Then run the 9900KS which no one can buy yet ( a chiller ). :p

Member when folks said the 7600K was a far better buy overall than the cheaper Ryzen 1600? Well that old testing held up well, and two years laters games did start making use of Ryzen.

I feel the pre-order for the Aqua will be done since doubting AMD going to change socket until DDR5/PCIe5 in 2021.
A 3900X/3950X will serve me well for all the amount of work need to do with it, considering the 8600K has survived for 20 months now :o

Who wants to put a bet that the 3700X/3800X going to be the new 2500Ks, that would keep soldiering the next 6-8 years?

I'm sure I read there will be Zen 2 laptop processors out soon but does anyone know if there will be decent laptop GPU's to follow like a Navi based GPU? I belive the best they have at the minute is an RX560X which sort of sits around the 1050/1050Ti area.
I've only seen articles about the iGPU.

"Real world gaming"? So take away competitive e-sports and similar stupid fps at potato resolutions then. And then Ryzen 2000 kinda already does ish? Because even if the 9900KS still tops the charts it's going to be such stupid money with such stupid cooling requirements it's not going to count as "real world gaming" either.

Is this Intel's "poor Volta" moment?

The RX 560X isn't a bad mobile videocard. If it can run at PCIe 3.0 x8 and achieve good framerate with maxed out settings (except AA) at 3840x2160 in Counter-Strike Source!

Bare in mind the existence of the more powerful mobile RX 580, too.

I did read about the RX580 but never really found many laptops with it fitted.
I initially bought a Helios 300 with a 1050ti but cancelled it as could probably get something better for not much more soon hence asking if it was worth a wait to see what AMD might have.

the RX cards are under valued, the 580 can run most if not all game at ultra setting 1080.
