AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

If they convert straight to GBP I may change my plans. I'm expecting 25% less than those prices in pounds.

Some of them will read straight across, others will be less. I never quite understand why people are willing to spend huge sums of money on a motherboard though, especially when they don't use half the features, or even bother to overclock most of the time. :)

wow $160 cheepest for a x570

Are the x550's coming later? I'm not seeing any news/leaks on them. :(

Options ;) If I upgrade next in 2025 I'll need all the features I may use on a board now. Better components, build quality, ease of overclocking. I've never cheaped out on motherboards, not the most expensive either, and never had an issue.

I don't get why people don't invest in the heart of their system. Ties everything else together, if you have a high end CPU and GPU it makes sense to balance out the rest of the system ;)

Well that sucks (I'm assumimg $1 = £1), my mobo budget was about £250. Will have to see how much the AsRock Taichi costs. Also the prices seem way too close to eachother from the Strix-F to the Hero Viii

For me I will be getting the Gigabyte Extreme but if crazy money will go the one below it...

State tax is not added if you are ordering from outside the USA. The only tax anyone from the UK will pay is VAT levied by HMRC on the import of the CPU.

I know that, I meant when purely comparing both prices they aren't quite a straight swap as US states add tax on aswell. Though some such as Delaware have 0% sales tax :)

Depends on how Asrock and Gigabyte price their boards for me. I Do not need wifi or anything above 1gig lan speeds so was looking at the Asus Strix-f but they can hang for that pricing.
Asrock Taichi or if I really decide to spend big to have a fanless motherboard with all right angled connectors then the Gigabyte extreme.

£160 for this. 12 Phase VRM, that's not bad, pretty good actually.

The question wasn't really targeted at you, just a general observation tbh.

With all of the plastic and RGB nonsense that you are buying if you actually break it down, there is not much difference other than power delivery, and the PCB quality, and that would certainly not add 100% extra cost from £150 to £300. Obviously features add cost, but the only extra features you see added are more USB ports and 10GBe or 2.5GBe etc. nothing that cannot be expanded with cards or cables really.

$399 for a non HEDT board in my opinion is a waste, it is pure milking by the board manufacturers, and when you are someone like me who regularly deals with the stupidly priced Asus workstation boards, it is hard to fathom why they are doing it. I actually feel bad for those who think they are getting 'good value' with these products. :(

Biostar's 'high end' will probably be the new king of high spec, good price.

AsRock Taichi and maybe a couple of mid-high Gigabyte SKUs will rule what used to be the high end price range.

Everything else is looking pretty expensive ... so you might as well buy the MSI Godlike or Gigabyte Extreme, to get the best, if you're going to spend all that money (though a Taichi Ultimate SKU might change that if it comes).

IMO a ton of people will end up with an X470 Taichi.

I don't really see ASUS being competitive in any price range. Unless they release a CH Formula Extreme at same price as MSI Godlike / GB Extreme (unlikely - will probably be as much as the AsRock Aqua).

Ford cars are so bloody expensive now! Their new GT is almost $500,000, it's ridiculous!

I mean I sure I could by a Fiesta and that would do everything I need it to but I feel indignant as a consumer that there are cars at this price range, they're fleecing us.

Sure but in that analogy the Fiesta can only do 20mph, has three wheels and runs on cooking oil only.

Meanwhile if you want a car that has four wheels, can at least do 50mph and can be filled at your local petrol station, then you're paying double what you had to last year.

The bottom end of these ranges is going to be bargain basement trash. For £150+. Good luck getting even calc.exe to run on one of those.
